We all know there are many loud, violent, dark scenes and sensual graphics in anime. It’s almost hard to watch anime with a kid.
Most people agree that Hayao Miyazaki is credited for some of the greatest P.G. anime movies ever made when discussing the top P.G. anime films.
But I’m sure that there are other P.G. Rated Anime out there, right?
That’s why I’m here for you!
I have made a list of 40+ P.G. Rated Anime Shows to watch with your kids, siblings, young cousins, and younger siblings. Or your lover.
1.) Naruto
The protagonist of Naruto is a teenage ninja who aspires to lead his community as the Hokage.
The Naruto television series explores various topics, including loneliness, acceptance, and the value of laborious effort. in addition to being entertaining and full of Naruto’s mischievous pranks.
He is a pre-teen in the first half of the series and an adolescent in the second.
There are a couple of quick, passing references to smoking, drinking, gambling, and the occasional usage of the word dammit.
2.) Weathering with You
Hodaka flees his house in pursuit of a light, which leads him to Hina.
Someone whose recent, life-altering misfortune makes it appear like the rain outside and the darkness the clouds bring are ideally suited to her state of mind. However, she, too, notices a light and goes to where it lands on top of a demolished structure.
She discovers herself worshipping at a small shrine there and transforming into a sunshine girl when she is there.
3.) Howl’s Moving Castle
Another of Hayao Miyazaki’s films. A young girl who must work in her parents’ hat shop finds solace only in her unplanned encounters with the dashing Howl the wizard.
When a witch notices her happiness, she curses her in a jealous rage to grow old. She runs away to Howl’s magical moving castle out of humiliation and fear.
4.) Cardcaptor Sakura
In the anime series Cardcaptor Sakura, also known as Cardcaptors in other countries, a little girl in elementary school unintentionally sets free a collection of magical playing cards.
After doing so, she learns of her own magical abilities.
The show follows Sakura, a fantastic female role model, as she tries to get the cards back and put them in the book where they were initially hidden.
Similar to Pokemon, Mild violence can be found in Sakura.

5.) Haikyu!!
Haikyu!! Begins with Shy Hinata, a junior high boy of short stature, who is inspired to play volleyball after watching a player known as “The Little Giant,” only to find that he is the only member of the school volleyball club.
He then works to form a team and eventually participates in competitive matches.
As the series progresses, Shy encounters his sworn enemy, and their friendship encourages both boys to strive for their potential.
You don’t need to be a sports lover or have any volleyball knowledge to enjoy Haikyu; it’s a family favourite.

6.) My Neighbor Totoro
In this well-known animated tale by director Hayao Miyazaki, we follow schoolgirl Satsuke and her younger sister Mei as they move into an old country house with their father and wait for their mother to recuperate from illness at a local hospital.

7.) My Hero Academia
In the universe of
The main character, Izuku Midoriya, was born without a quirk. Still, it didn’t stop him from wanting to go to U.A.
You can watch Izuku change throughout the series from the unsure and anxious youngster he is at the start, so—I won’t say what—because doing so would give the plot away.
A few minor swear words and some cartoon violence are present, but nothing out of the ordinary for a kid’s superhero movie.
8.) Castle in the Sky
Hayao Miyazaki wrote and directed the 1986 Japanese animated adventure movie Castle in the Sky, which was studio Ghibli’s debut effort.
Toei Kabushiki Kaisha handled the movie’s distribution. The 1986 Animage Anime Grand Prix winner was Laputa: Castle in the Sky.
9.) Hikaru No Go
Hikaru Shindo, a 12-year-old kid, discovers a Go board while exploring inside his grandfather’s house in the novel Hikaru No Go.
Sai, a Go player from the Heian period (794-1185), haunts the board as he longs to play Go once again and make the “perfect move.”
The show follows Hikaru as he picks up the game of Go and discovers the value of friendship, respect, and learning from the past.
Hikaru No Go is a suitable choice for newcomers to anime. It is a program that both children and adults can enjoy.
10.) Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind
Young Nausicaä lives in the arid Valley of the Wind and can communicate with the enormous insects that populate the dangerous jungle in a far-off future.
This future is where the few humans who have survived an apocalyptic conflict live in scattered semi-hospitable environments within what has become a “toxic jungle.”
Nausicaä attempts to restore peace to the devastated planet under the direction of the reflective veteran warrior, Lord Yupa.

11.) Little Witch Academia
Akko and her fellow students at Luna Nova Academy, a prominent school for small witches, are the subjects of the action-packed and thrilling anime series Little Witch Academia.
There are a few sword fights and skirmishes between mythical creatures, but no blood or anything else would scare a pre-teen.
Although I would be okay with our 4-year-old watching what happens in this program, I don’t believe small children would understand the plot, which is why it has 8 years older rating.
12.) Wolf Children
In 2012, Mamoru Hosoda released the supernatural anime film Wolf Children in Japan.
A young mother must find ways to raise her werewolf son and daughter while keeping their trait secret from society after her werewolf partner tragically dies in an accident while looking for food for their kids.
13.) Girls Und Panzer
Teenage Miho Nishizumi is from a family known for its expertise in Senshado, or tank combat. When she defies her family’s honour by aiding a rival, she is transferred to a school that does not teach Senshado.
Girls Und Panzer is a brief television series focusing on friendship, girl strength, competition, and family ties.

14.) Ponyo
A goldfish princess meets a human boy named Sosuke while on a prohibited trip to the surface world, and he gives her the name Ponyo.
Ponyo yearns to be human, and as her connection with Sosuke deepens, so does her resemblance to a human.
When her father returns to their ocean kingdom, Ponyo’s desire to live on land is so great that she breaks free and threatens Sosuke’s village by spilling some magical elixirs.
15.) Lucky Star
Having fun at school, helping one another do their homework, preparing meals, playing
She loves anime and chocolate. Sometimes calming, but most frequently just humorous. Watching it with kids is fun because they can relate to it.
16.) When Marnie was there
A young girl is brought to the country for medical reasons. She meets Marnie, a young woman with long blonde hair, who becomes an unusual companion.
Marnie has more connections to the protagonist than we may anticipate as the friendship breaks down. This is some Queer bait, but I love the ending. It’s tear-jerking.
17.) Last Exile
The story of heroism vs. evil in Last Exile, which takes place on the planet Prester, is set against a backdrop of retro and futuristic airships.
Lavie is a navigator, and Claus Valca is a pilot. Together, they establish a group driven to be the first to fly across the Grand Stream.
They encounter the enigmatic Alvis along the way, and the group sets out to make their planet peaceful. Anime fans must see this because of the captivating plot and stunning images.
18.) Summer Wars
Mamoru Hosoda is the director of the 2009 Japanese animated science fiction movie Summer Wars.
The movie centres on Kenji Koiso, a shy math prodigy in the eleventh grade, who is brought to Ueda by Natsuki Shinohara.
Natsuki is a student in the twelfth grade, and they celebrate her great-90th grandmother’s birthday. However, a cruel artificial intelligence named Love Machine unjustly accuses him of hacking a virtual environment.
Kenji needs to fix the harm done to it and figure out how to stop the malicious computer program from doing more damage.
As a portion of the region was initially dominated by the Sanada clan and was close to Hosoda’s hometown in Toyama, the real-world city of Ueda was chosen as the location for Summer Wars.
19.) Fairy Tail
This is the tale of 17-year-old Lucy and the other fairy-tale guild
This is an epic series with eight seasons and counting, although not everyone will enjoy it.
There are a few moments where Lucy uses her physical characteristics to obtain what she wants and some innuendo.
That being said, these instances are few and vastly outnumbered by those in which Lucy and her friends successfully complete their tasks by applying their knowledge and admirable qualities.
20.) Pom Poko
The Tanuki, a breed of raccoon canines from Japanese mythology, live a peaceful existence until human progress starts encroaching on the forest, as told in the poem Pom Poko.
To stop the ruin of their ancestral home and the real threat of extinction, the Tanuki employ their magical shape-shifting skills.
Younger children who are sensitive may become saddened by the significant number of raccoon dog fatalities in this lovely film.
21.) The Legend of Korra
Avatar: The Last Airbender and The Legend of Korra is set in the same universe and 70 years apart. While it is not necessary to have watched Avatar to enjoy Korra, you will get more out of this anime if you have.
You should wait until your child is old enough to avoid being intimidated by some of the fantastical themes since it is generally agreed upon that this is a little more
22.) Spirited Away
Spirited Away won the Best Animated Feature Oscar and more than 40 other international cinema accolades in 2003. Why is it clear to see?
This is a
Spirited Away, the tale of a 10-year-old girl who ends up with her parents in a mystical land full of monsters, might be too emotional or frightful for young readers.
23.) Yo-Kai Watch
This is similar to Pokemon, but you befriend ghosts instead of training and battling creatures.
According to some parents, the show is overly provocative for younger children. It is no more offensive than the odd scene or innuendo you may see in a Bugs Bunny or other cartoon.
I’d be happy to let my 5-year-old see this, but I understand why some parents might prefer that their children wait till they are a little older.

24.) Avatar: The Last Airbender
For one hundred years, the Avatar has been gone. The invasion of the Fire Nation has turned the world upside down, and it needs him to come back and put things back in order.
The last of his tribe, trapped in the water, is 11-year-old Aang. Is he the mythical Avatar? Avatar The Last Airbender is an upbeat anime with many inspiring elements that both adults and children will find fascinating.
25.) Inazuma Eleven
An average school soccer team and its players are the subjects of the famous underdog tale Inazuma Eleven. You don’t have to be a soccer fan to enjoy it, but it will help if you are.
Solid and uplifting characters and messages abound. Except for the occasional foul on the soccer field, most children can safely observe.
26.) Kiki’s Delivery Service
A pleasant and touching film with just enough plot to hold adults’ interest but not too much for younger audiences.
The typical hero vs. villain content found in most media is absent. Kiki’s Delivery Service is only a small child discovering her place in the world.
27.) The Girl Who Leap Through Time
Makoto is a character in The Girl Who Leapt Through Time who develops the ability to go back in time.
Makoto finds that every change she makes has unanticipated consequences after using her newly discovered ability to change the past to improve her grades, stay on schedule, and prepare for the ideal karaoke performance.
This is a great story about dealing with the results of our actions and accepting responsibility for them.
28.) Fruits Basket

Millennium Actress is a Japanese anime film directed by Satoshi Kon and produced by Studio Madhouse that was released in 2001.
It depicts the narrative of a documentary filmmaker who investigates the life of an ageing actress in a world where reality and cinema are confused.
It is based on Setsuko Hara and Hideko Takamine’s lives.
32.) Mary and the Witch’s Flower
Mary is a regular girl who spends her last days of summer vacation with an elderly relative in the country.
She chases a cat that leads her deep into the forest because she is bored and interested.
33.) My Neighbors, the Yamadas
My Neighbors the Yamadas is a 1999 Japanese animated comedy film created by Studio Ghibli and written and directed by Isao Takahata.
Hayato Isobata, Masako Araki, Naomi Uno, Touru Masuoka, Yukiji Asaoka, Akiko Yano, and Kosanji Yanagiya feature in the film.
Unlike Studio Ghibli’s other films, the film is presented in a stylized comic strip look, a break from the studio’s other works’ standard anime style.
34.) Digimon: The Movie
Digimon: The Movie is an American remake of the first three Japanese Digimon films released by 20th Century Fox in 2000.
The film uses material from Digimon Adventure, Digimon Adventure: Our War Game!, and Digimon Adventure: Our War Game! , as well as Digimon Adventure 02: Digimon Hurricane Touchdown!!! /Ultimate Evolution!! The Digimentals of Gold.
Compared to the original films, Digimon: The Movie was heavily edited, with over 40 minutes of scenes from the separate Japanese versions wiped out to save time and various plot alterations.
