1. Koyuzu (Otaku Elf)

Koiyuzuis the little sister of Koito in the Otaku Elf series, and the one who is more mature for her age.

She’s praised by adults for her maturity and how smart she is. Not to mention how much of a kind person she is who seems to light up everyone’s day, whether in the fish market when she’s shopping, or anywhere else in the anime.

She’s wholesome.

2. Charlotte Evans (I’m Giving The Disgraced Noble Lady I Rescued A Crash Course In Naughtiness)

Charlotte is given a home when found outside collapsed near Allen Crawford’s home. Once she wakes up he explains the situation and Charlotte being the somewhat relaxed, calm, and gentle person she is, she understands and offers to do her part to keep the mansion clean.

Allen teaches her “naughty” things, meaning things she’s never done before because she fears being scolded and disciplined, and she starts to pen up more and more, becoming more of her true self.

Charlotte is a pleasant character, to say the least and is of course waifu material.

3. Angeline (S-Rank Musume)

Angeline has two sides to her personality that stand out more than anything else. One, she has this “cute” side who adores, respects, admires, and loves her father.

Second, she has a serious side where she holds everyone accountable to the standard she holds herself which is high.

The anime and its characters like Angeline might not be the most flashy and aesthetically designed, but the quality of their character is solid and deserves a mention.

4. Delta (The Eminence In Shadow)

Delta is the more playful character in the anime Eminence in Shadow, and the one who resembles a dog in the most literal way (ears, behaviour, etc).

When she’s relaxed she’s chilled, laid back as anything, and is pleasant and unbothered by most things. But when pissed off or it’s time to fight, she’s extremely violent and off the cuff.

Season 1 of Eminence in Shadow proved this.

5. Priestess (Goblin Slayer)

Priestess or Onna Shinkan as she’s called, is one of the anime’s main characters and one of the cuter ones.

She’s a massive help to her adventurer party despite not being as useful in the early stages of her career. She’s kind, generous, pleasant, and forgiving as any priestess would be. But she has her own personality that adds to her label.

Making her somewhat unique.

6. Miacha Bestetos (I’m Giving The Disgraced Noble Lady I Rescued A Crash Course In Naughtiness)

Miacha is a postwoman in this anime and the one who’s always showing up in the earlier stages of the series.

She’s a cat girl, clearly, and one who uses the typical mannerisms we’ve gotten used to in the anime industry.

Miacha has a good relationship with Allen Crawford, the man she delivers mail to and does odd jobs when it’s relevant (relating to mail delivery and packages).

7. Ai Kamiyo (Dark Gathering)

Kamiyo is an idol in the Dark Gathering series, and one who you could say resembles Ai Hoshino. I feel like it’s a deliberate pun to show respect for the Oshi No Ko series.

She’s relevant to the story because of the spirit passing her and the problems she experienced before the main characters Keitato and Yayoi met her.

In general, she’s energetic and is a lot like Ruby Hoshino.

8. Mie San (The Girl I Like Forgot Her Classes)

Mie-San is the anime’s main female character who always forgets her glasses. She’s the girl who gets up in the face of the MC, making him blush a lot similar to the anime Aharen Is Indecipherable.

As the male MC helps her out more and more, she starts to get closer and can even remember and recognize his face without her glasses.

This is a simple but wholesome anime.

9. Ruby Hoshino (Oshi No Ko)

Ruby Hoshino is the daughter of Ai Hoshino, who we see in the long first episode of Oshi No Ko.

She’s a lot like Ai Hoshino with the exception she doesn’t have a dark side to her personality and is all the way pleasant and mostly positive.

She’s the Ai Hoshino that Ai could never be but probably wanted to be on the surface.

Ruby brings balance to the darkness of this anime.

10. Liza (Too Cute Crisis)

Liza is an alien from outer space who comes to Earth to examine whether it deserves to be destroyed or not. But while on her mission, she finds out there are cats and other cute pets that live with humans.

After becoming obsessed with cats and cute animals, but mainly cats, her whole focus changes and the anime’s humour is centred around this wholesome but simple trope.

11. Anya Forger (Spy x Family)

Anya Forger is the daughter of Yor and Loid, adopted. There’s no question she’s one of the cutest anime girls of the year 2023.

She’s smart, witty, has psychic powers, and has some of the best reactions we’ve ever seen in an anime series.

There are so many memes adapted from her reactions alone, making her and the anime more popular over time.

12. Yunyun (Konosuba: An Explosion On This Wonderful World)

Yunyun is the star of the show in the 2023 anime series – An Eplxosion On This Wonderful World (Konosuba).

Along with Megumin, we see the behind-the-scenes of Yunyun’s early life and how they both graduate.

She’s the eventual girlfriend of the anime’s MC, and she literally does live next door to the MC which is how their relationship slowly develops.

In school, Mahiru is a girl who’s admired and praised. She’s known as “angel”.

At home, she’s a normal girl with insecurities and family issues, and this becomes obvious as we see her open up to Amane (the male MC).

15. Carol Olston (Tomo Chan Is A Girl)

Carol Olston is one of the year’s best female characters. She’s weird, different, airheaded, but a lot smarter than she tends to let on.

She understands things beyond the surface but tends to play dumb for her own entertainment depending on the situation.

Carol is a fun character and a bubbly girl who lightens up the anime and brings something different to the other two characters as far as chemistry and appeal.

16. Beta (The Eminence In Shadow)

Beta is a peculiar character in the Eminence In Shadow series, and one who’s one of the most popular out of the Shadow Garden girls.

She’s clearly smart and likes to read and research a lot, which is also part of her job, but she also has a masochistic side to her personality that’s not unlike Lalatina from Konosuba.

Beta can also “play dumb” when it comes to certain run-ins with people she knows, adding to her mystique looking from the outside in.
