7+ Life Lessons To Be Learned From Bleach TYBW Arc

There aren’t many anime like Bleach when it comes to life lessons, inspiration, and content.

Each character is written with some level of depth and importance for the most part, making so many memorable especially for their quotes and life lessons.

The TYBW arc is iconic for its characters, those who show up again, and the carnage witnessed in the series.

This is also what gives the anime many life lessons to take from it.

With that said, let’s talk about it.

1. Never rest on your laurels

See what happened when the Quincy’s raided the Seireitei? Nobody expected it, no one saw it coming, and in fact, many of the squad captains and lieutenants had gotten so used to relative peace that they never in their nightmares thought they could be outdone.

But that’s what happens when you rest on your laurels and get too used to things going the way you want it to.

The soul reapers suffered a lot because of it, including the loss of their head captain.

This leads to the next point.

2. Hard times make stronger people

As a result of resting on their laurels, the squad captains, Lieutenants, and even Ichigo Kurosaki started to train, get stronger, and learn from their mistakes.

It took hard times to make them ultimately stronger as a unit, as a group, and as people. But that may never have happened if it wasn’t for the carnage, brutality, destruction, and savagery that took place.

Byakuya is one example of a changed man, and the same is true for Renji, Rukia, and many others including Ichigo.

3. Revenge never dies

For 1000 years the Quncies have been waiting for their chance to strike back at the soul reapers for what happened 1000 years ago.

That’s a long time to wait but it shows that revenge never dies and if the person dies who has vengeance on their mind, then that revenge just passes down to others until it’s finally achieved.

In real life, this happens with gangs and even countries. Revenge is stubborn and fixated like nothing else.

4. Prepare for the worst so you can live comfortably and peacefully

Similar to point #1 about resting on your laurels, bleach TYBW teaches you about preparation and how important it is.

We see this when Yhwach enters the royal palace, and when things seem to be going their way, it’s not. Senjumaru and the other royal guards came well-prepared for the day this would happen (even if the regular soul reapers weren’t as prepared).

There is NO peace or comfort with preparation.

5. Everyone has their own version of “justice”

Justice to the quincies looks a lot different to the justice from the soul reapers or even the humans of Bleach. The quincies version of justice is revenge and murdering as many soul reapers as possible.

Of course, they’re all being led by the head Quincy and they in effect can’t deny or reject him, but it still applies.

To the soul reapers, quincies are evil, but it goes a lot deeper than that, making the idea of justice more complicated.

6. An unresolved past may affect the future

In the distant past, what happened between soul reapers and quincies could have been resolved there and then. Had it been done that way, the future would look very different.

It’s the same in real life. Certain countries like the USA have been so arrogant that things they never expected have come to pass (well deserved).

When you throw your weight around, abuse others, dictate, and cause trouble for long enough, the future will be ugly as fuck and full of carnage depending on the extremes.

7. Hurt people hurt people

And finally, the Quincies are proof that hurt people tend to hurt people. It doesn’t matter if the person they’re hurting had anything to do with their pain, it only matters that in their eyes, that pain should be forced upon others.

And then that creates a cycle of more pain, more hatred, and more pain, which is what PAIN pointed out in the Naruto Shippuden series.

It’s a cycle that never ends and only corrupts and ruins people.
