Different types of Loli’s are defined by a few things:
- Character design.
- Aesthetic.
- Tropes/cliches.
- Age.
- Style.
Just as there are types of anime characters, Tsunderes, or Shounen, there are also types of anime loli characters.
- Some behave differently.
- have unique personalities.
- Some feature in certain genres.
And some stand out for individual reasons.
Let’s talk about it.
Some of these “types” are adapted from a Reddit meme.
1. Crazy Loli
This one is easy to establish. You see the “crazy loli” type in the anime Tanya Of The Evil, which is an isekai series.
You also see the crazy Loli type in the anime Higurashi: When They Cry, and the anime has a few of these characters.
Rika Furude is one example, and she’s the main one who has both a cute side and a crazy side in the most literal way imaginable.
2. An actual Loli
The definition of a Loli is “little girl” when you keep it simple. And for that, there are characters who fit this script.
Naru from the anime Barakamon is the definition of this. She’s the troublemaker who terrorizes Seishu Honda when he arrives on the island.
There is also Hina, Naru’s friend, who fits the “actual Loli” description. Alongside the main 3 characters in the series Mitsuboshi Colors, which is about 3 little girls wanting to protect their town.
3. Sexy Loli
Taken straight from a meme, this version of a Loli goes beyond the simple definition and focuses on characters who are more attractive (and of age) despite their appearance.
Goddess Hestia is one example of this in the anime Danmachi. There are also characters like Rory Mercury, depending on your viewpoint.
4. 300+ year old Loli
This is an easy one. You have the character Sophie Twilight in the anime series: Ms. Vampire Who Lives In My Neighborhood.
She’s been a vampire for so long, at such a young age, that she’s now 300+ years old but still as small as ever since vampires don’t age.
There is also Elsie from the anime The World God Only Knows, who’s a demon girl who shows up out of nowhere and is a relevant character.
5. Adult Loli
For this type of anime loli, the common joke is adult characters who look like they’re kids. One perfect example is Masamune Makabe’s mother in the anime Masamune Kun No Revenge.
She’s small, and much smaller than both Masamune and the father of the family. The sister takes after her somewhat but is still taller.
Masamune’s mother is around 40 years old, playing heavily into the sarcasm of her being an “adult Loli”.
6. Devil Loli
Satania McDowell is the perfect example of this type of anime loli. She’s a devil, though nowhere near as evil as real devils from other devil anime series.
She likes playing tricks on people, and does have a devilish attitude (no pun intended), but ultimately is putting on a front a lot of the time.
Ai Enma from Hell Girl could be classed as a “devil Loli” metaphorically.
7. 1000+ year old Loli
Characters like Milim from the anime series: Tensei Slime is the perfect example here. She’s a character who is well over 2000+ years old, and fits the bill.
She’s also a character who clearly looks younger than she is to an absolute extreme that no sane person (or anime fan) would deny.
8. Cute Loli
The cute Loli anime character type is abundant. You have Chino from the anime series Is The Order A Rabbit, and in all honestly, there are also Cocoa and other girls from the same series (except Rize).
Then you have Latina from the anime If It’s For My Daughter, I’d Even Defeat A Demon Lord, who becomes the adopted daughter of Dale in the first season.
Any anime character who gets a head pat fits this description of “cute Loli”, which would also include Satoko from Higurashi, among others.
9. Fun Loli
This type of Loli can be combined with others, including the cute category of anime Loli’s. One that comes to mind is the character Roka Shibasaki from the anime series D Frag.
She’s an Otaku, a gamer, and someone who loves to come up with creative gaming ideas and isn’t one to do things in a conventional way.
She’s unusual and different, but “fun”.
10. Chuunibyou Loli
This type of Loli is a little less common than other types, but it exists. An example would be Kodaka’s little sister in the anime Haganai: I Don’t Have Many Friends.
She’s a clear Chuunibyou who likes to dress up and play the part of an all-powerful character, for fun, as kids tend to do.
She even has different coloured eyes to nail the look down to a T.
For an anime that has fanservice, Kodaka’s sister is the part of the anime where things are clean and wholesome.
11. Dangerously powerful Loli
Juselino from the anime series Peach Boy Riverside has to be one of the best examples there is. In the anime, she’s in command of powerful demons and many wouldn’t dare to f*ck with her for some reason.
That “reason” being how overwhelmingly powerful she is despite the fun, carefree, and cheery attitude she likes to display.
Underneath the surface is a power few want to be on the receiving end of.
12. Transforming Loli
For this type of anime Loli that’s as arbitrary as the rest, we can use Jahy Sama as an example here.
Jahy Sama is from the anime The Great Jahy Will Not Be Defeated.
After escaping her original demon realm, she’s now living on Earth and is forced to work to pay the bills and keep the lights on. Now her original form is that of a tiny little girl.
When she’s ready, she can also transform into her usual “adult” form.
In this way, she’s a transforming Loli if you wanna put it like that.

In the end, through observation and knowledge, you can list all types of characters as a “type of Loli” based on how they behave, react, or their role in a certain series if their design fits.
