These ratings are based on anime as of 24/12/2022.
Like 2021 before it, 2022 has proven to be a standout year for anime, bringing with it the return of several well-regarded series, the release of even more eagerly awaited new anime, and a variety of great limited-series originals.
This year we’ve had shows like:
- Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba.
- Attack on Titan: The Final Season Part 2.
- Mitsuo Iso’s The Orbital Children.
- Hiroyuki Imaishi’s Cyberpunk: Edgerunners.
- Chainsaw Man.
- Mob Psycho 100 III.
In this list, we’re going on a 25 list of the Highest Rated Anime Shows in 2022.
1.) Attack On Titan: The Final Season Part 2 (9.16)
Attack on Titan: The Final Season Part 2 made a lot of waves earlier in 2022 that hit fans to the core.
Eren Yaeger, a character that has evolved and changed drastically, never feels illogical and always feels like his character is developing naturally, which is important.

2.) Bleach: Sennen Kessen hen (9.10)
Ichigo Kurosaki, a replacement Soul Reaper, spends his days battling the perilous demonic Hollows that threaten Karakura Town. With the help of his closest allies, Ichigo completes his mission: Uryuu Ishida, a Quincy rival.
Orihime Inoue, a childhood friend with a gift for healing, and Yasutora Sado, a high school classmate with superhuman power. The unexpected presence of Asguiaro Ebern, a fearsome Arrancar who announces the return of Yhwach, an ancient Quincy ruler, interrupts Ichigo’s vigilante routine.
To permanently erase both the human world and the Soul Society, Yhwach attempts to rekindle the long-standing blood conflict between Soul Reaper and Quincy.
3.) Bochi The Rock (8.86)
Hitori “Bocchi” Gotou is a socially awkward and lonely guitar player who dreams of making friends and playing live with a band.
On a tragic day, Bocchi runs across the departing Kessoku Band guitarist Ikuyo Kita, who encourages her to join the bar when he runs away before their first performance.
Soon after, Bocchi meets Ryou Yamada, the extraordinary bassist who will be her last bandmate. The girls feel empowered by their mutual passion for music, despite their debut performance being below average, and Kita soon joins them.
Bocchi and her bandmates also found fulfilment in playing and dedicated their lives to becoming better musicians and making the most of their brief high school years.

4.) Chainsaw Man (8.82)
Denji is deprived of having a typical adolescent life and is left with nothing but the enormous amount owed by his absent father. He kills devils for money that inevitably finds its way into the yakuza’s pockets with his pet chainsaw devil, Pochita.
All Denji can do is daydream of living a pleasant, straightforward life with delicious food and a lovely woman at his side. But Denji’s cruel, premature death is caused by a yakuza act of greedy betrayal, shattering all hopes of him ever finding happiness.
5.) One Piece (8.68)
Monkey D. Luffy, a teenager who defies the pirate stereotype, is 17.
Luffy’s motivation for being a pirate is sheer amazement rather than the stereotype of a nasty, hardened, toothless pirate ransacking villages for fun: the prospect of an exciting journey that brings him to intriguing people and, finally, the promised treasure.
To reach the most sought-after of all fortunes, Luffy crosses Grand Line with his crew in the footsteps of his childhood hero, having insane adventures, solving sinister secrets, and facing formidable foes along the way.
6.) Spy x Family Part 2 (8.53)
Operation Strix enters its second stage with Anya Forger successfully enrolled at the esteemed Eden Academy. Anya must either make friends with Donovan Desmond’s son Damian or acquire eight Stella Stars to become an Imperial Scholar to look into the Ostanian politician.
Thankfully, Anya already has her first star. In honour of the occasion, Loid, her adoptive father, decides to grant her dream of adopting a dog.
As they conduct a canine search, Loid is given new instructions from his superiors, who have discovered a conspiracy by Berlint University students to kill Westalis’ Minister Brantz using bombs carried by trained dogs.
Anya discovers the terrorists’ operating base while Loid tries to thwart their objectives. She becomes friends with a compassionate, proactive dog there, whom the family later calls Bond.
7.) Golden Kamuy 4th Season (8.30)
Golden Kamuy is set in the years following the Russo-Japanese War, primarily in Hokkaido and the surrounding areas. It depicts the numerous political, technological, and cultural advancements that occurred during that time.
Several essential characters in the series, such as Hijikata Toshiz, are fictionalized representations of actual people and occasions.
The indigenous Ainu people and their culture are specifically highlighted, including their language study and how they reverently employ everything of nature to thank the Kamuy, who they consider to be their providers.
Later chapters of the narrative also examine the many Ainu subcultures and the hardships they experienced due to being caught up in territorial disputes between Japan and Russia.

8.) Boku No Hero Acedemia 6th Season (8.30)
The old Liberation Army is now known as the Paranormal Liberation Front, with Tomura Shigaraki as its leader.
In addition to their overwhelming bulk and power, this organized crime group also poses a significant threat to the Hero Association due to the authoritative traits of Jin “Twice” Bubaigawara and Gigantomachia.
The Hero Association plans to launch a surprise attack on the enemy headquarters utilizing all of its resources as new information from the undercover hero Keigo “Hawks” Takami verifies that Shigaraki is nowhere to be found, forcing the UA students back onto the battlefield.
The hapless villains must regroup as the battle continues, but the brave heroes are determined to defeat every one of them.
9.) Holo No Graffiti (8.29)
There is never a dull day at the Hololive Production office, from figuring out how to open and close doors to disarming surprise parcels, sometimes known as bombs! Holo no Graffiti follows a bizarre group of “VTubers,” or Virtual YouTubers.
They go about their ridiculous yet amusing daily lives, documenting all their adorable moments and accidents.
10.) My Dress-Up Darling (8.28)
Wakana Gojou, a high school student, spends his days mastering the craft of creating hina dolls in the hopes of someday matching his grandfather’s level of proficiency.
Gojou finds happiness in making outfits for his dolls while his peers spend their time engaging in pop culture. However, he takes great measures to hide his unusual passion because he fears that if it were known, people would make fun of him.
Here comes Marin Kitagawa, a strikingly attractive young woman whose assurance and poise sharply contrast Gojou’s shyness. But when Kitagawa learns about Gojou’s stitching prowess and joyfully admits to him about her own pastime—cosplay—the unthinkable occurs.
She chooses to enlist his assistance because of her pitiful sewing abilities.
11.) Blue Lock (8.26)
Yoichi Isagi transferred the ball to a teammate, costing him the opportunity in the nationals, where he was seconds away from qualifying.
He’s angry after that and questions whether the result could have been different based on different actions.
When he gets home, an invitation from the Japan Football Union awaits the teenage striker.
12.) IDOLiSH7 Third Beat Part 2 (8.24)
Even though IDOLiSH7 is more popular than ever, nobody is happy because a new threat has entered the scene in the form of the newly formed idol group OO.
They are led by the evil entertainment executive Ryou Tsukumo, and they would do anything to obtain what they want, using various shady strategies to defeat their competitors.
The scandal has already tarnished TRIGGER’s reputation, and IDOLiSH7 and Re: vale are likely to suffer a similar or even worse fate.

13.) Detective Conan (8.17)
Shinichi Kudou, a high school kid with extraordinary detective talent, is highly renowned for cracking several challenging cases. Shinichi unintentionally witnesses a troubling illicit operation one day when he tries to follow two suspicious men.
He is unfortunately caught in the act, and the men decide to kill him by giving him a lethal dose of an experimental medicine created by their criminal organization. To his surprise, though, Shinichi survives the ordeal, albeit in the form of a seven-year-old boy.
14.) Mairimashita! Iruma-kun 3rd Season (8.07)
The misfit class members return to Babyls Demon School after their heroic actions at Walter Park following their summer break.
Along with praise and respect, they will also be shocked to learn that the entire class must be promoted to Dalet rank before beginning the second year if they want to stay in the opulent Royal One classroom.
There are plenty of opportunities to move up the ranks as the Harvest and Music Festivals are just around the corner.
Although it won’t be easy, no class has been able to pull it off. The school hires exceptional tutors to help the misfit class face the challenges ahead to give them a chance to accomplish the seemingly impossible.
15.) Fumetsu no Anata e 2nd Season (8.03)
The immortal Fushi isolates himself on an island and defends himself from enemy Nokkers after witnessing enough sorrow and death. But instead of going for Fushi alone, Nokkers focus on the towns beyond his range to draw him away.
Soon after, Fushi is discovered by the Guardians, a group led by Hisame, a warrior named Hayase’s descendent. The Guardians have gained a sizable following and are well-known worldwide.
They were inspired by how Fushi defended Janada Island from the Nokkers years ago. Fushi initially refuses to let the Guardians go with him to the location of the Nokkers’ most recent assault. Fushi makes a few critical new and old allies in their town.
16.) Douluo Dalu (8.01)
In terms of the usage of covert weapons, Tang San is one of the most esteemed students in the Tang Sect martial arts clan.
The elders predict an excellent future for Tang, but he decides to give up this life to learn forbidden lore.
17.) Kidou Senshi Gundam: Suisei no Majo (7.91)
Suletta Mercury departs their home planet at her mother’s request and enrols in the Asticassia School of Technology. The school uses student duelling to determine right and wrong, with the victor receiving Miorine Rembran as their fiancée—a prize set by Miorine’s father.
The finest pilot in the class and Miorine’s current fiancé, Guel Jeturk, demands that his bride-to-be move home with him. Auletta objects, so Guel confronts her.
Even though she wins, Suletta’s triumph is overturned when she is arrested on suspicion of using a GUND-ARM, sometimes known as a “Gundam,” a prohibited sort of mobile suit.
18.) Isekai Ojisan (7.85)
Yousuke “Ojisan” Shibazaki’s been unconscious for 17 years after a catastrophic collision with a truck. When Ojisan finally wakes up, he starts babbling in a foreign language and says that he was taken to a magnificent place called Gran Bahamal.
Takafumi dismisses his uncle’s claims as gibberish until proven otherwise. In a stroke of genius, the two establish a YouTube channel to display Ojisan’s magical prowess.
19.) Kage no Jitsuryokusha ni Naritakute! (7.83)
Minoru Kagenou has been obsessed with strength for as long as he can remember, and as a result, he has put himself through countless hours of demanding training. However, Minoru makes every effort to blend in with the multitude.
This wish is not motivated by a desire to be seen by others. So, armed with a crowbar at night, he brutally beats the neighbourhood biker gangs while feigning to be an entirely average student during the day.
Minoru’s ambitions appear to abruptly come to an end when he is involved in a truck accident. He laments his helplessness in his dying days, saying that no matter how much he trained, he could do nothing to overcome his human limitations.
20.) Milgram (7.77)
When Es wakes up in the Milgram facility, Jackalope, a bizarre talking animal, is staring them in the face. They quickly discover their mission: Es, the correctional officer, must explore the minds of 10 prisoners, each sentenced to prison for contributing to the loss of life.
Es is in control of their destinies.
How much does intent matter if the final result is death, and do the means always justify the methods? Es can only choose between being innocent or guilty, regardless of how the distinctions between good and evil, right and wrong, and kind and cruel are muddled.
21.) Berserk: Ougon Jidai-hen – Memorial Edition (7.67)
He has only put his faith in his weapon. Guts is a lone fighter who works as a mercenary in a region affected by the Hundred Years War. He has no family, friends, or somewhere to go home. Guts can handle a sword that is longer than he is tall and trounces strong foes.
The “Band of the Hawk’s” commander Griffith set his sights on Guts. Griffith wins a duel with Guts and pulls him into the Band of the Hawk to realize his dream. Griffith, who has vast ambitions and a commanding power unthinkable given his attractive appearance.
22.) More than a married couple, but not lovers (7.63)
Jirou Yakuin, a third-year high school student, has a crush on Shiori Sakurazaka, a classmate and childhood friend.
He, therefore, hopes to be matched with her for the “marriage practical,” which is a tradition at their school in which boy-girl pairings are chosen randomly to live as mock married couples while being observed and graded on how close they have become.
The vivacious Akari Watanabe wants to be paired up with her crush, the well-liked and attractive Minami Tenjin.
23.) Yowamushi Pedal: Limit Break (7.55)
Souhoku High Bicycle Racing Club utilized their frustration as motivation to do better on the final day of the competition. This is after failing to reach their expectations during day 1 and day 2 of the Inter-High competition.
They must contend with Hakone Academy’s tremendous brilliance and Kyoto Fushimi High’s cunning tactics, so it is easier said than done.
24.) Cool Doji Danshi (7.52)
Souma Shiki, Hayate Ichikura, Shun Futami, and Takayuki Mima all have one trait despite having quite different personalities. Despite being naturally clumsy, the four hide their humiliation from even the most minor slip-ups by being cool-headed.
The airheadedness of the boys is what makes the girls’ hearts pound, though. The brothers do their hardest not to lose their cool despite everything in their daily lives!
25.) Akiba Maid War (7.49)
When Nagomi and her colleague recruit, the experienced Ranko Mannen, are required to conduct an “errand” at a competing maid cafe, their first day appears to be entirely routine.
There, things quickly turn sour, and Nagomi soon experiences the bloody maid battles of Akihabara for the first time.
Nagomi discovers that maid cafés are remarkably dissimilar from what she had imagined as she observes Ranko casually navigating through a swarm of maids brandishing guns and knives.
