Hyperdimension Neptunia is a video game for the PlayStation, originally, developed by Compile Heart and Ideal Factory.
It happens to be one of the more popular and known games out there related to the anime industry.
With the adaptation of Hyperdimension Neptunia, a small portion of its world and characters are highlighted.
Either way, let’s get into MY ranking for Hyperdimension Neptunia’s best characters.
Anime, games, it doesn’t matter.
Best Hyperdimension Neptunia Characters:
1. Neptune (Nep Nep)
Neptune is the funniest out of all the characters, and one I relate to for her sarcastic personality, laid back attitude, and never getting overly emotional or being dramatic about life in general.
In this way, you could say Neptune is similar to characters like Glenn Radars (Rokudenashi) or any equivalent you can think of.
Easily the number 1 character from Hyperdimension Neptunia.
2. Compa
Compa’s appeal is easy to see. She’s the kindest character there is from the Hyperdimension Neptunia series.
She has an innocence to her personality and character and is one of those people who seem like they can’t do any wrong and everything they do is with the best intentions.
If I were to compare her characteristics, it would be similar to someone like Azmaria Hendric (Chrono Crusade).
3. Ram & Rom
Ram & Rom are twin sisters, and in the spirit of Hyperdimension Neptunia’s humour, they are exactly as the same describes.
It’s a gaming reference.
Both of these twin sisters, similar to the later “Rem and Ram” from Re:Zero have their “cute” appeal that becomes obvious pretty fast.
But in the case of Ram and Rom, this is permanent and that’s just how they are.

4. Iffy
Iffy is like the “cooler” character in the Hyperdimension universe. The cooler female character that is.
In a way, she reminds me of Rika Kawai from Wonder Egg Priority.
Iffy, or simply “If” in the anime has a chilled personality (unless you feed her eggplants) but there are multiple versions of this character with different personalities otherwise.
5. Nepgear
Nepgear is like a balance between Compa and maybe Noire. Madoka Kaname would be a good comparison.
She’s the younger sister (CPU) of Neptune and is a lot more mature than Neptune.
Nepgear is the sensible type of character who does what needs to be done and doesn’t make excuses when doing it.
The dependable type of person who doesn’t tolerate laziness or slack attitudes. But still remains wholesome.
6. Plutia
Plutia is the airheaded female character from Hyperdimension Neptunia (they’re all female, but still).
She comes across as someone who’s in their own world, is asleep behind the wheel, dense, on their own planet, and someone who moves at their own pace.
Even if in slow motion.
In contrast, when she transforms, she becomes a different beast all together.
7. Blanc
Blanc can be compared to your average KUUDERE or dandere in the anime industry. Aloof, seemingly cold, unemotional, detached, and not one to wear her feelings on her sleeve.
She’s an introvert all the way and the type of person who says what needs to be said without giving an essay or saying too much.
Blanc does have her funny moments and a side to her that will give you a good laugh (when pissed off).
8. Noire
Noire is the obvious Tsundere of the Hyperdimension Neptunia series. She gives the “leadership” vibe and is the type to take command and take things more seriously than others.
She’s not into being lazy, or slacking off, and often criticizes Neptune for the fact she is laid back and more easygoing. Or taking things seemingly as a joke.
In reality, Noire just doesn’t like to be vulnerable or to show her more “real” side.
9. Vert
Vert is clearly similar to Noire in the sense that she has a more serious side to her personality, and when it comes to matters of business, she’s on point and doesn’t mess around.
She’s focused, determined, has her head screwed on, and isn’t one to take things too lightly.
Still, Vert does have a playful side to her personality as well and even though she isn’t as laid back, she is we’ll say, relaxed.
10. Peashy
Peashy is the little kid of the series and the one who everyone would call cute. Similar to Rom and Ram.
She hangs around with Neptune a lot and they play games together.
Besides this, I prefer Ram and Rom when comparing side by side.
11. Uni
And then there’s Uni, the younger sister of Noire in the series.
Noire is seen criticizing Uni when she doesn’t live up to Noire’s expectations. Noire is “harsh” on her little sister and Uni feels like she has to raise the bar to impress.
You could say she is the least confident out of the Hyperdimension characters, but she is one of the nicest just like COMPA.
–
In the end, Hyperdimension Neptunia has a lot of characters, and more of them appear in the games than in the anime series.
Still, out of the MAIN characters of the show, and those who show up most often both in the games or otherwise, these are my best as far as ranking order goes.
Neptune is #1 and always will be.
