9+ Of The BEST Anime Shows From Studio Lerche (Recommended)

Studio Lerche is an anime studio that’s been around since 2011, with plenty of great and known anime under its belt.

Some are recent, others are older.

Here’s a list of anime series from the studio.

Best Studio Lerche Anime:

1. Assassination Classroom

YouTube video

Assassin Classroom is one of the more unique school/action series there is. Where the main characters are classed as “failures”, made to be trained up to kill their teacher who’s a supernatural being.

And one who threatened the earth and threatens to blow up the moon if he was not killed in time.

It becomes more of a comedy routine seeing the school kids attempt it since Koro Sensei, the teacher, is far beyond the speed of sound (match 23-ish).

For an anime that starts out with lots of comedy and action, it does get more involved and becomes more emotional as the stakes get higher, and the situation changes drastically.

Not to mention certain truths getting revealed that are upsetting and unexpected.

2. Classroom Of The Elite

Classroom Of The Elite suzune

Classroom Of The Elite has become one of the most popular anime series in the school/slice of life genre. And as far as anime that has an element of competition where stakes are high.

Ayanokouji has become the staple character everyone fusses about with his cunning, smarts, intelligence, and approach making him a bit of a savage and calculated.

Suzune Horikita, his partner, is also a character fans are interested in. But it goes beyond just her when the 2nd season came around.

A 3rd season will no doubt release in the future.

3. Danganronpa

Danganronpa girl

Danganronpa has more than one season and is adapted from a set of video games. The anime starts out with the cast walking into a school they’re supposed to attend.

Not long after entering they realize it’s actually a prison designed to keep people in, and make the students (or people) enter into a survival death match of sorts, with the one pulling the strings getting a sadistic kick out of it.

Kyoko Kirigiri is one of the smartest characters in the series and one of the anime’s “best girls” with her approach, calm demeanour, and attitude that keeps her alive and well.

The anime is psychological in nature and goes deep into the psyche of its characters.

4. Toilet Bound Hanako

Toilet Bound Hanako kun

This anime is overlooked quite a lot. But it’s one that needs a 2nd season and one that has its own vibe and feel.

Hanako Kun is a legend to most normal kids like Nene, and once she meets Hanako Kun, literally in the toilets, she becomes “bound” by him without saying too much.

The anime does have subtle levels of romance, but nothing too out there and not something you’d follow too seriously.

It even has action scenes with Hanako at the forefront and implied violence and darker-ish moments when character backstories are revealed.

Hanako Kun (the ghost) carries a knife.

5. Monster Musume

Monster Musume harem ecchi anime

Monster Musume is a harem/ecchi and it’s blatantly obvious for anyone who’s watched this anime, seen bits of this anime, or has seen this anime in the many memes on the internet that can be found.

Similar to the way High School DxD is treated, Monster Musume is one of the “better” anime within this category or genre of anime. But it does appeal to fetishes with its type of characters.

Like the main female character who’s a snake.

6. Gakkou Gurashi

School Live as it’s called in English is an anime series about Yuki Takeya, a pink haired girl the anime pays special attention to. And her friends in school who hang out, eat, and go on adventures together.

Of course, I’m making the anime sound prettier than it is. This is a horror series so prepare for the worst.

It’s one of the best anime produced by LERCHE for its sheer quality, surprisingly well-written aspects of mental health, the shock value which isn’t overly done, and the characters in general in relation to the story and the world around them.

7. Scum’s Wish

Scums Wish couples

This romance series takes things (or does things) differently. As the name implies, there is some immoral behaviour in this anime, and it does show the darker side of romance, the fantasies people have, their wishes, and their contradictions.

This is what makes this anime either one you love or one you hate. The way fans take it differs.

8. Kino’s Journey (2017)

Kinos Journey 2017

Kino’s Journey is an adaptation of the original series Kino’s Travels: The Beautiful World, which was made back in the early 2000s.

The 2017 version adapts and mimics some parts of the original, but introduces its own unique elements, stories, and episodes that make it different from the original.

One of those episodes happens to be one of my favourites of all time for its depth, shock value, and the way it’s written.

It’s a good adaptation overall and Lerche did a solid job of it.

9. Magical Girl Raising Project

Magical Girl Raising Project girls

Magical Girl Raising Project might be one of Lerche’s best anime series, but for an anime overall it’s not the greatest.

It has to be said.

But it was and is remembered as being one of the more brutal magical girl series that piggybacked off the success of Madoka Magica. An anime that set the trend for “dark” magical girl anime.

“Raising project” is the part of this series that makes it somewhat disturbing.
