Cat-like anime characters are more common these days than they were in the 1980s and 1990s.
It became a symbol of:
- cuteness.
- moe.
And the types of anime
Though not always.
Here’s a list of the best characters that fit the bill of cat
1. Blair (Soul Eater)
Blair is one of the side characters in the Soul Eater series. And one who is sexier than most characters in the
Not much for brains, but she is good at using magic and has enough power to stand up for herself in a real fight.
Aside from this, Blair with her “cat” features is a fan service character when all is said and done.
2. Cinnamon (Nekopara)
Have you ever met a person who has a motherly vibe to their personality? That describes Cinnamon in a nutshell from the anime Nekopara.
She’s a cat girl who like myself, is laid back, chilled, and relaxed as a general rule.
That said, there is another side to Cinnamon that this anime is partially known for.
3. Yoruichi Shihouin (Bleach)
Yoruichi is one of the few anime cat
She is a soul reaper and ex-leader of the stealth force, and the “Senpai” of Soi Fon, plus Yoruichi is known as the fastest Soul reaper.
Her cat-like reflexes, agility, relevance, and strength speak for itself.
4. Sistine Fibel (Rokudenashi)
Nicknamed “white cat” by Glenn Radards in the Rokudenashi series, Sistine is from a rich noble family and takes her education seriously.
In fact she takes it so seriously that she challenges the professor (Glenn) because of his slack attitude towards teaching in class. She took a big risk doing so.
She’s been known to use her “authority” only when desperate, but is an easy going but straightforward character with the highest moral standards overall.
5. Tamaki Kotatsu (Fire Force)
Tamaki has pyro abilities like many in the world of
Only in season 2 does Tamaki get to shine and we get to see her fire powers + her cat like abilities.
When Tamaki is serious, she’s a likeable character but still one with not too much focus.
6. Michiru Kagemori (BNA: Brand New Animal)
Michiru is one of the “animals” of this series who’s been made this way, and like others, has a harsher life because of racism, discrimination, and abandonment.
She’s usually upbeat as she can be and can even smile despite her pain and challenges faced in a world where she’s different.
7. Felix Argyle (Re:Zero)
Felix is a fairly strong swordsman but one who looks weaker and sillier on the surface more than anything else. He’s a typical TRAP character which is revealed fast enough.
With the exceptional ability to heal, which is Felix’s strength, he can pull his weight when it comes to times of need during or after a serious battle (like when facing the white whale in season 1).
8. Black Hanekawa (Bakemonogatari)
Hanekawa Tsubasa is a girl with
A female introvert.
But in her “black hanekawa” form she becomes a cat with white hair, her eye colour changes to match, and she’s more animalistic in a literal sense.
9. Miacha Bastetos (I’m Giving the Disgraced Noble Lady I Rescued a Crash Course in Naughtiness)
Miacha is the postal lady in the latest airing anime I’m Giving The Disgraced Noble Lady I Rescued A Crash Course In Naughtiness.
Long title aside, Miacha is the typical
Aesthetically speaking, her tiny postal hat and coat covering her shirt with a tie and shorts is about as unique as it gets for a character of this type.
She’s different.
10. Serval (Kemono Friends)
Serval is one of the many main characters in the Kemono Friends series. In the first season, Serval is seen travelling with the human girl who’s curious and in search of something.
The two pair together as they eventually reach a destination.
After season 1, Serval and the anime itself degrades a lot and basically becomes sh*t because of the way it was adapted.
Season 1 is the better version.
11. Coconut (Nekopara)
Coconut is the type of person who always wants to help others and has the best intentions, but because of her poor skills in certain areas, she fails miserably.
She’s a lot taller than other characters in Nekopara, making her a fairly tall “cat” girl with a unique set of eyes to match her different
12. Kuroka Toujou (High School DxD)
Kuroko’s power in the DxD series came about after protecting her sister and murdering her master to do so. No murder goes unpunished, and so she becomes a wanted criminal afterwards.
Of all the anime cat
Almost every DxD character is like that.
13. Ichigo Momomiya (Tokyo Mew Mew)
Ichigo merges with a cat, and that is how she becomes what she is in the anime’s story. Hence her being a cat girl.
You could say she’s one of the more old-school anime cat
She’s one of those anime
14. Himari Noihara (Omamori Himari)
This anime “cat” girl is the 16 year old protagonist of the show.
In a lot of anime, the male character might be the one protecting the female character, even if the female character is capable of defending herself (like Asterisk War).
But in Omamori Himari, the female MC has an oath going back generations to protect the male MC of the Awakawa family.
She’s a powerful female swords woman.
15. Sailor Tin Nyanko (Sailor Moon)
For a series like Sailor Moon which is PG on the surface, Sailor Tin Niyanko is a savage anime character who is genuinely a Sailor Senshi like the others.
She’s a cold character who doesn’t give a shit about the lives of others and feels no empathy or care for the deaths and murders she took part in.
That much can be seen in her expressions somewhat.
16. Kuon (Utawarerumono)
The defining trait of this cat girl called Kuon is the fact she has an absolutely massive appetite for food, which is even abnormal by the standards of her race.
You can compare to the
Kuon is a kind and peaceful character who sits high on the empathetic chart because of her caring heart.
