Anime characters with
Cute .- Clever.
- Smart.
- Introverts.
- Extroverts.
- Playful.
Or straight up geeks. It all depends on the situation, the character, and what it is they’re potraying (or trying to pray) by wearing
Just like real life – glasses come with all sorts of personalities, with even more styles than usual.
Let’s get into that, sharing both male and female characters in the process.
Anime boys with glasses :
1. Hikari Tsutsui (3D Kanojo)
Tsutsui is a straight up Otaku who loves watching Magical Girl series and collecting
He’s bullied for his passion and unique hobbies. And most people treat him like he’s worth less than sh**. Which ironically is how an Otaku is treated in Japan (compared to the west).
If you’ve been criticized for your interests in anime, or mistreated for something you enjoy that’s not “normal” you’ll relate to Tsutsui.
His personal struggles are realistic and true to life. And though awkward, he’s a likable character.
2. Sakamoto (Haven’t You Heard? I’m Sakamoto!)
Sakamoto is a “nice” guy who keeps his distance and never bothers anyone.
This is a comedy series so when anything dramatic happens, Sakamoto, like a superhero, always comes out on top and solves most problems that pop up.
One of his stand-out traits is his natural ability to stay calm in any situation, and think things through with a clear head.
3. Uryu Ishida (Bleach)
Uryu Ishida is obviously one of the most popular anime characters with
Uryu is quiet, reserved, but a little prickly and irritable when it comes to Ichigo Kurosaki. The main protagonist.
And even though he likes to brag about his strengths, he knows his limits and works within them to succeed and find a way to make things work in his favor.

4. Shiro Fujimoto (Blue Exorcist)
Shiro is the liveliest anime parent you’ll ever see. Especially as a father in the anime community.
He comes across as a little sarcastic, easy-going and jolly. But when it’s time to get serious and make sh** happen, he’s the first one to stand up and get things done.
His relationship with Rin Okumura is short-lived, but it’s still one of the nicest father-son relationships I’ve seen in an anime.
5. Konekomaru Miwa (Blue Exorcist)
Konekomaru is a coward. That’s just the easiest way to describe his character. It’s a miracle he’s even an exorcist at times, because of his shaky determination and conviction when things get too intense.
But overtime he does become a stronger person, and in the end he’s probably the kindest character in Blue Exorcist.
Even if not the most useful at times.
6. Dr. Stylish (Akame Ga Kill)
This guy is a gay scientist gone mad (I mean that literally). Who lives for nothing other than experimenting on human beings, turning them into monsters for his own entertainment.
His role in
7. Yukio Okumura (Blue Exorcist)
Yukio Okumura is the younger brother of Rin. But the roles look reversed because Yukio is more
Yukio is a guy with tons of pride, loyalty to the rules, and full commitment to his work. But underneath this layer is insecurity and a lack of confidence in himself.
On the outside he’s a leader who’s surprisingly talented for his age, but in reality he’s been training since childhood. And he’s not as brave as he’s portrayed to be.
This “contrast” will either make you love Yukio, or despite his role with a passion.

8. Sosuke Aizen (Bleach)
Sosuke Aizen is one of the most FAMOUS anime characters who wears
He’s a smooth talker. The kind of person who could talk a seemingly “nice” person into doing something so wicked they’d think they’re possessed by a devil.
Aizen has no feelings for the weak or naïve. It’s a game to him, and
9. Joji Saiga (Psycho Pass)
Saiga is a smart man. The kind of guy you could talk to for hours about some of the deepest, most thought-provoking topics.
Just having a conversation with this doctor will make you think, because of his deep knowledge and perspective on life.
I wouldn’t say he’s one of the most “important” characters in Psycho Pass, but that doesn’t change how memorable and interesting he is.

10. Kusuo Saiki (The Disastrous Life Of Saiki K)
Kusuo Saiki is my legitimate favorite for anime characters with
The guy’s an introvert who will KILL just to be alone, avoid people and any sort of “attention” that would make him popular.
But what makes Saiki so dynamic is the psychic powers he’s born with, and how he deals with everyday life because of his natural-born abilities.

11. Shiroe (Log Horizon)
Shiroe is the leader in Log Horizon. He’s the reason a council is formed in the game of Elder Tales, with new laws and rules set out for the people to live in peace and harmony.
This guy might “seem” nice and gentle, but there’s a dark side to his character. Giving him the nickname “villain in dark
Though it’s not dark in the sense of evil or immoral.
12. Fafnir (Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid)
Fafnir sits around playing video
In case you can’t tell – he’s a dragon too. In fact – the name “Fafnir” comes from a fictional story of a mythical dragon. So his name is on point and makes sense for the context of the anime.
13. Kamina (Gurren Lagann)
Kamina is like the sunshine in summer. Always the kind of guy who brighten up everyone’s mood, uplifts your spirits, and reminds you of what your dreams and goals are.
His belief in himself and his goals is unshakeable. His conviction is inspiring. And his attitude towards life is enough to make anyone pay attention.
He might be a rebel, but his worldview is a reminder of why positivity is always better than the alternative.

14. Hizashi Yamada (My Hero Academia)
I call this guy the “hype” man because that’s what he does. He gets everyone so hyped. Especially when the tournaments of MHA take place.
If you’re a fan of
15. Iida Tenya (My Hero Academia)
The leader of class 1-A. IIda Tenya is a little uptight, serious and maybe even over the top when it comes to rules.
But there’s no better leader out of the main characters in
He’s likable in his own awkward, and sometimes inspiring ways.
Anime girls with glasses :
16. Homura Akemi (Madoka Magica)
Homura Akemi in the main timeline doesn’t wear
In the beginning Homura’s a shy introvert who gets flustered if she gets too much attention.
This version of Homura is sweet, kind and would never even think of hurting another person. Or acting “brash” towards others.
But that changes as life takes a turn for the worst, which leads to the main story of
17. Kobayashi (Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid)
Miss Kobayashi is a true introvert who works in a cubicle and lives in a small flat.
By accident when drunk, she runs into a dragon that takes on the form of a human. And they both get drunk together.
Miss Kobayashi’s not the most energetic person, but she’s sharp, intelligent, and drops a surprising amount of wisdom in the anime series.
And the comedy wouldn’t make sense if she wasn’t the MC.
18. Nemuri Kayama (My Hero Academia)
Nemuri Kayama, also known as “midnight” is basically the fan-service of
Her hero outfit is designed for eye candy, and her personality seems to fit that role. But all that aside – she’s smarter than she looks, and she’s not stupid when it all comes down to it.
That’s why she’s one of the most relevant adult heroes in
19. Ursula Callistis (Little Witch Academia)
Ursula s the mentor for Atsuko Kagari, one of the main characters in Little Witch Academia. To me she’s one of the most underrated female anime characters.
First of all – fan service doesn’t exist in this anime. Second – Ursula’s bond with Atsuko is what makes the show so heart warming and
Ursula’s insecurities, as well as strengths and struggles is what makes her role in the story so important and entertaining.
20. Fuu Hououji (Magic Knight Rayearth
Fuu Hououji is another introvert on this list. Usually keeping to herself, and burying her feelings in the cabinets of her soul.
If it wasn’t for characters like Hikaru Shidou and Umi Ryuuzaki, Fuu wouldn’t open up her heart to others as easily. And she’d be too stubborn to share her problems with others.
Having Fuu around in Magic Knight Rayearth adds a sense of “serenity” to the overall anime series.
21. Sayuri Hida (Best Student Council)
Sayuri Hida is an expert with a bamboo blade. But in the anime you never get to see any of that progress into something bigger.
Best Student Council is a
Sayuri Hida, though introverted and reserved, is a relevant member of the student council. Who will stand up for herself if the situation calls for it.

22. Shizuku Hazuki (New Game)
Shizuku Hazuki is an eccentric anime character. With strange habits and an obsession with “cute things”.
For most people it’s too much to bear or deal with, without feeling irritated by her behavior. But when it comes down to business, Hazuki doesn’t mess around.
She’s the director of the gaming company: Eagle Jump in New Game! after all. And she makes the series so much more fun and full of laughs.
23. Laki Olietta (Fairy Tail)
Laki is one of the more “behind the scenes” characters in
Generally she’s laid back and reserved. And as funny as it is to say – she’s one of the few “female” characters who isn’t used for “fan service” in

24. Chiriko Tsurumi (Anohana)
Chiriko comes across as a “too good for anybody” kind of girl. Projecting an aura of superiority and arrogance around others.
But one thing I’ll say about Chiriko is she’s just straightforward, brutally honest and practical.
Most of the “bad” you see of her from a distance is just a facade anyway, because there’s more to her character than she lets on.

25. Yuri Dietrich (RErideD: Tokigoe no Derrida)
Yuri is best friends with one of the main characters: Mage Bilstein from RErideD. Her biggest passion that keeps her going through the war is photography.
She’s always taking advantage of every moment to snap a picture of her surroundings. Whether it’s her friends or something else.
And even though she’s not a soldier, Yuri’s a useful character who’s more resourceful than she looks.
26. Sumie Ayado (3D Kanojo)
Sumie Ayado is a literal angel in 3D Kanojo. She’s too nice, kind and so pure of heart it hurts to see her being bullied for “standing out” for her hobbies and interests.
Ayado is passionate about gardening, plants and anything connected to nature.
She’s the kind of girl who’s loyal to the death, and would never cheat on anyone she’s fully committed to.
27. Rin Tohsaka (Fate Stay Night)
Rin Tohsaka doesn’t always wear
Rin’s independent and avoids relying on others. She’s too stubborn and would rather get things done on her own terms.
But for anyone who manages to break the wall she puts up for others, Rin is kind and thoughtful. Even if feisty and irritated by the smallest things.
28. Konori Mii (A Certain Scientific Railgun)
Konori Mii is one of the leaders of Judgment. A sort of “anti-criminal” unit that serves the public.
It’s rare you’ll ever see Konori angry, pissed off or overly emotional. Because she’s emotionally
As a mentor to a lot of characters in Railgun, she’s a leading example of what it means to be good person with strong motives, and a strong purpose that drives her actions.
29. Saber (Fate Stay Night)
Again – Saber doesn’t always wear
Saber is the kind of woman who sets the bar high and refuses to lower her standards for anyone.
If something bothers Saber, she’ll lay down the law and let you know what she’s not willing to tolerate. She’s a king after all, so it’s unsurprising why she has so much pride and dignity.
30. Ikuno (Darling In The Franxx)
Ikuno is similar to Chriko from Anohana. With similar
She doesn’t have much to say and has a hard time opening up, but that’s because of her own insecurities and wanting to handle everything herself. Instead of pushing her problems on people.
31. Riko (Made In Abyss)
Riko is a smart kid from Made In Abyss – a deep, and slightly dark anime series that reminds me of archaeology.
The way Riko’s character is designed and the main purpose of this show is similar to what archaeologists do.
They search for treasure.
This adventure aspect of Made In Abyss makes it fun, but engaging and Riko’s optimism gives it a “spark” it wouldn’t have otherwise.
32. Henrietta (Log Horizon)
Henrietta is practical and level-headed just like Shiroe, the main character from Log Horizon.
Henrietta has a thing for Shiroe, and usually loses her cool when she’s around him.
But when it’s time to get down to business, Henrietta shines and is one of the most important support characters needed in the anime’s plot.
33. Satori Azuma (Bamboo Blade)
Azuma is a clumsy mess who would slip on air if she could, and make a fool of herself.
But when it comes to her one passion: Kendo, this is where Azuma shines the brightest and blows the minds of anyone who watches her practice.
It’s the one thing she’s done since childhood, but stopped doing because her father forbids it. Until later when his mind is changed.
34. Manami Okuda (Assassination Classroom)
Manami Okuda (even though it’s cliché) is an introvert in
Similar to Azuma she has one thing that makes her stand out: and that’s her love for science.
In fact – this is an area Manami is kind of a genius.
It’s the one thing that makes her likable, and the starting point of all the friends she makes in Assassination Classroom.
