Theo J Ellis, Founder Of Anime Motivation To Be Judge Of Crunchyroll 2021 Anime Awards

I’ve kept quiet about it for a good while now, as have many others I’m sure. But it’s official.

I’ve been chosen to be a judge for the 2021 Crunchyroll anime awards!

The news was shared by Crunchyroll today (December 15th 2020).

Anime Awards Judges

Compared to earlier years (I’ve been following since 2019 to be honest) there’s a lot more judges than ever.

I’m one of the few black anime judges for what its worth, so it’s good to represent.

The voting and everything else will be a little different this year, and I genuinely look forward to you all seeing which anime have been chosen.

I can’t say anything until Crunchyroll shares it.

An interesting story

In 2019 when I first followed the Crunchyroll anime awards, I actually criticized it. And they were aware of it.

Some things I just didn’t agree with.

So to be chosen as an anime judge literally the year after is an anecdotal worth mentioning.

What are you expecting to see in the anime awards this time around?

Either way, I’m GRATEFUL. And appreciate being a part of this.
