The Pokemon series first started in 1996 with the release of Pokemon red and many other Pokemon games. It’s about Ash Ketchum, an upcoming Pokemon trainer from Pallet Town.
The video games became so popular that the team behind Pokemon started a cartoon series. Now it’s transcended anime and is no longer even viewed as an “anime” in a strict sense.
