15+ Guilty Pleasure Anime You Wouldn’t Want Parents Knowing About

Guilty pleasure anime series are the types of shows that come down to 2 things.

  • Make you a little “guilty” for liking it.
  • Or you don’t care, even if society does.

The 2nd point is kind of like how some people walk around with Ahegao T-shirts on. Without any f*cks given.

Balls of steel.

Here’s some anime that evokes those feelings.

Guilty Pleasure Anime:

1. Ishuzoku Reviewers

Ishuzoku Reviewers is an anime about reviewing brothels after using their “services”.

You know what I mean.

The main characters go around sleeping with:

  • Slime girls.
  • Monster girls.
  • Demon girls.

And even girls who look like Loli’s. There’s a weird, sometimes disturbed fetish for everyone.

It’s obvious why this anime caused so much outrage and makes some people uncomfortable.

Either way, it’s a definite guilty pleasure anime for those who are into it.

2. Redo Of Healer

Redo Of Healer is an anime about revenge in the most savage ways imaginable.

The main male character Keyaru is:

  • R*ped.
  • Abused.
  • Drugged.
  • Gang banged.
  • Tortured and enslaved.

And this happens for years of his teenage life.

He swears revenge as a healer, makes a plan, manages to redo time with healing magic, and gets revenge on his oppressors.

One form of revenge is r*pe in the 2nd episode. Probably the worst episode in anime history.

Despite the anime not causing as much controversy as predicted, it’s a definite guilty pleasure anime you’d keep on the down low.

3. Kill La Kill

Kill La Kill is an anime I hesitate to throw into this list. But it does have some “guilty pleasure” vibes.

It’s about Ryuko Matoi, a girl out for revenge. Searching for her father’s killer with her scissor blades as a weapon.

There’s Ecchi, not just action and supernatural. With some really deep topics under the surface that can go over people’s heads.

Aside from it being one of my favourite action anime of all time, it’s an anime that fits the bill here.

4. Prison School

Prison School is exactly what it sounds like. Except “the boys” are imprisoned for being caught doing perverted sh*t.

Similar to Ishuzoku Reviewers for its fetish nature, there’s a lot of that here but in a comedic setting.

The anime is also Seinen, given it a more mature approach than comparable anime.

Prison School is probably one of the most well-known Ecchi anime ever made.

5. Citrus

Citrus is a raunchy anime series about lesbians and Yuri. It’s almost what I’d call a “trashy” anime series, or could be classed as one.

2 step sisters fall for each other, and the romance picks up and focuses mainly on that. With this element playing into their school life.

If you’ve watched the anime Bloom Into You, Citrus is basically the guilty pleasure version of that.

6. Keijo

Keijo is an anime literally about girls using their backside to compete in sports. To say it’s comical is an understatement.

It goes even beyond that though. With tons of fan service.

When all is said and done, this anime is too daft to be taken seriously, despite its guilty pleasure vibes. And that’s the point.

Not the kind of anime you’d willingly tell your friends or family about in conversation.

7. Seitokai Yakuindomo

Seitokai Yakuindomo is like a watered-down version of Shimoneta, but it’s hard to even say that with a serious face.

The anime makes use of lewd jokes in almost every episode. And always does it in a tongue in cheek style of writing.

The 2nd season goes even further and gets a lot more “forward” with its jokes and how casual it is.

I can’t even lie, the anime is somewhat underrated and it doesn’t even use fanservice to make a point either.

It’s clever like that. Overall It might be a bit much for some.

8. Happy Sugar Life

Happy Sugar Life is one of my favourite anime series of all time. The writing is unique and the art and expressions are different.

It’s a f*cked up anime about Satou Matsuzaka, a girl who falls in love with a 6-7 year old child.

This child lives with Satou.

Work, money, her dreams, Satou does everything for this child while keeping it secret from friends and society. In a way, it’s her own “guilty” pleasure.

What’s powerful about this anime is the psychology of it all, how it’s broken down, illustrated, and symbolized.

The psychological aspect is on the level of an anime like Monster, but different.

9. Goblin Slayer

Goblin Slayer is another anime I hesitate to mention here, but it’s got to be done.

It’s really only because of the first episode, and what goes down within that space of time.

Goblins in this world are like demons. They’re portrayed in the ugliest way possible, and that’s shown by Goblin’s attempting to r*pe women

The rest of the anime is more about adventures, battles, and some violence than anything else.

10. World’s End Harem

World’s End Harem is a 2021 anime series about a world where MEN have been wiped from existence by a virus.

Only ONE man survives, and it’s his job to impregnate as many women as possible to rebuild the population.

You can see how this anime is an obvious source of controversy. And guilty pleasure at the same time (It’s Ecchi).

11. High School DxD

High School DxD is what I’d call the king of Harem anime. It’s too famous for its own good.

The main character himself is pretty much a “harem” king as it is and is a cliché protagonist you see in harem shows.

That said, people rate the anime, and it’s a common guilty pleasure anime in the community.

12. Monogatari

Monogatari is a mixed bag of sweets. Some aspects of the anime are guilty pleasure, others are more thought provoking and deep.

And other parts will make you say WTF. It’s that kind of anime.

The plot is mostly about vampires and the lengthy dialogue between the characters. And how they all connect to each other.

If you want something completely different unlike anything you’ve seen, this anime is it.

The ART is stunning.

13. Uzaki Chan Wants To Hang Out

Uzaki Chan Wants To Hang Out caused a lot of outrage online. So much that it lasted for basically 1 year.

People on Twitter wouldn’t shut the F up about it. And even went out of their way to “fix” the art they were that angry.

It’s about Hana Uzaki, and how she pesters her Senpai who she secretly likes.

Some moments in this anime will make you cringe, laugh, or facepalm. And it’s not the kind of thing you’d show your parents.

14. How Not To Summon A Demon Lord

How Not To Summon A Demon Lord has 2 seasons so far. It was first released around 2018.

It’s about an Otaku who ends up in one of his favourite games. And he becomes that games most powerful character: Diablo.

Everything that follows from there is your usual harem cliches, comedy, but it’s more lewd than usual.

That “lewdness” is why it’s worth mentioning in this list.

15. Shimoneta

Shimoneta is an extreme anime no matter how you look at it.

The alternative title is: A Boring World Where The Concept Of Dirty Jokes Doesn’t Exist.

Made by J.C Staff, the anime is about a society run by SJW’S, white nights, and Puritans. There’s even something called “the decency squad”.

Lewd jokes, sensual humour, or banter relating to those subjects is illegal. And can even land you in jail for doing so.

The anime’s dialogue is foul, politically incorrect, and unapologetic. So are the anime’s themes, Ecchi, and to an extent the characters.

It’s a guilty pleasure anime with a purpose. But guilty pleasure none the less.

What other anime deserves a mention?
