Everyone has opinions, but few are brave enough to share it. Because of the fear of criticism and being ostracized.
But as a Wiseman once said:
“To avoid criticism.. Say nothing, do nothing, be nothing.” – Unknown
I never had an interest in making my own jail cell and locking my opinions in it.
So here are 19 of the worst anime series I’ve ever watched in my life.
19 Worst Anime List:
1. Trinity Seven
Trinity Seven is an Ecchi/school/fantasy series. Let’s not forget this is a blatant harem, too.
The problem with the harem genre is it’s done so terribly. And Trinity Seven is one of its poorest victims.
To me it’s crazy an anime like Trinity Seven is almost as highly rated as Haganai: I Don’t Have Many Friends. Which is also a harem, but executed better.
2. Deadman Wonderland
Maybe it’s because I watched the dubbed version instead of the original. But it’s still a Bullsh** series.
The action felt forced, as if it was using violence to excuse the animes poor characters and uninteresting story.
And the main character? Oh my. Let’s not even get started on the little guy. Too painful to watch and listen to.
3. My First Girlfriend Is A Gal
Your first girlfriend is a gal, is she?
First of all: the anime name is awful, which is a huge problem.
Most animes don’t get watched BECAUSE the title is so sh**.
But I’m open minded, so I gave Hajimete a try. But of course the animes poor jokes, rotten comedy and dialogue made me throw up in a bucket.
And the harem/Ecchi was nothing new. Just a copy and paste. Nothing special.
4. A Sister’s All You Need
A sisters all you need… if you enjoy having sex with your sister that is. Or fantasizing about it.
Yes, this is an incest anime series. At least that’s the main theme running through it. The first episode proves this.
I’ll be sure to throw this anime in the garbage when I’m done writing this post. Because that’s the best treatment it deserves.
Better treatment than that would be disrespectful to my own ethics and standards.
5. The Familiar Of Zero
It’s no surprise that this anime is also a harem series. So many harems are the equivalent of horse sh**.
If you enjoy watching a male character get beaten up and abused by his “female master”, then watch this. You’ll love it.
The main female character takes Tsundere to a whole new level of pain. And none of it is even justified.
6. Love Tyrant
One of the worst anime series of 2017.
Love Tyrant is a rip off harem version of Death Note. Where the main character is able to write someone’s name in a “kiss note”, causing the person to fall madly in love.
I’ve watched some extreme parody series before, but this anime tried harder than a constipated person on the toilet.
And in the end, it failed much more than it succeeded.
7. Beyond The Boundary
The main character swings a sword that uses her own blood to wield it.
She’s cute, silly, clumsy, and a little eccentric.
Sadly, these characteristics weren’t enough to make this anime worth my time.
The action is pathetic, it shouldn’t even be called action. And the timing between the action is even worse.
To think Beyond the Boundary is considered “emotional” is enough to make me faint.
8. Is This A Zombie?
The whole concept of this show is beyond ridiculous. Which isn’t a bad thing by the way.
What’s bad is how it’s executed. The comedy didn’t do it for me, and so I eventually dropped it.
Each to their own I guess, seeing as a lot of anime fans enjoyed this series.
9. From The New World
The worst horror series I’ve ever lay eyes on.
The worst aspect of this show is the pacing. They rushed the story much too fast. And it goes over your head if you don’t pay attention.
Half way through this series you’ll be wondering WTF is even happening, as the story and what it’s trying to portray is a mess.
It’s as if they took the story, broke it into pieces, and threw each piece not knowing where it would land.
Such a disappointing series that had potential.
There’s such a thing as “too much violence”. Btooom proves it.
It’s “shocking violence” just for the sake of it. Like the “rape” scene in the first couple of episodes.
Take away the violence and this anime is a pile of sh**. There’s really nothing else to say about it.
I couldn’t even finish the first episode. I had to run to the bathroom to puke out my guts and evening dinner because of this crap.
It feels like another copy’n’paste of so many “supernatural” series that have come before it.
Terrible 2018 anime series.
12. Fate Extra: Last Encore
I can’t even believe this is a FATE series. It feels like since Fate Zero, the fate series has been “slightly” going down hill.
Fate Extra was so bad I almost lost hope for the anime industry. And for FATE as a franchise as well.
13. Gokukoku no Brynhildr
It’s basically a mediocre version of Elfen Lied.
The animation isn’t all that great. And the characters (voice actors, design) left a lot of room for improvement.
Not worth my time!
Even if something isn’t realistic, if it’s relatable then that’s enough to fill in the gaps.
Anohana is a BAD example of this kind of fiction.
Instead of weeping at the ending, I face-palmed myself and wondered how I was even tricked into watching such a childish anime in the first place.
Badly written is an understatement. It could have worked otherwise.
15. Darling In The Franxx
After recently watching Gurren Lagann myself, now I understand how bad Darling In The Franxx really is. And why people say it “copied” Gurren Lagann and other shows.
What bothers me about Darling In The Franxx is I had so much faith in what this series could have done.
The hype was “real”. Most people would agree.
But then Studio Trigger and A1 Pictures started smoking weed and getting high on who knows what, because it all went to sh** and none of it made sense anymore.
I’ve never seen a series turn out so badly in my entire history of watching anime.
16. Date A Live
Date A Live… an ecchi series that’s more popular than I’m able to comprehend.
It’s just a bland series with the most bland main protagonist, and some of the most laughable action I’ve ever seen.
I couldn’t stomach watching season 2 after the first season.
I get that it’s a harem series, but it’s no different than 100’s of harems. It offers nothing special.
17. High School Of The Dead
High School Of The Dead is an Ecchi series. But if you watch it without looking up, you’re bound to be disappointed within the first few episodes.
Why? This is also a horror series that takes every chance it gets to shove fan service down your throat.
And that’s EVEN during a scene where zombies are trying to feed on the main characters.
I mean – it’s not like the zombies are gonna get a kick out of the fan-service and hot girls.
This anime is a load of BS, and there aren’t many I’d claim to be worse than this.
18. Your Name (Kimi No Na Wa)
Your Name is like a barbie doll.
It looks beautiful on the outside. The animation is stunning.
I’m sure this is what tricked most teenagers into giving it a rating of OVER 9/10 on MyAnimeList.
But like a barbie doll – it’s a lifeless empty shell. With no depth at all.
No amount of “make-up” can hide your flaws, and I feel the same way about Your Name.
19. 5 Centimeters Per Second
For the “sad, emotional” movie it’s claimed to be… I’ve seen more emotion come out of Google’s Assistant after saying “OK Google”, than I did this so called masterpiece.
It’s like watching paint dry while tied to a chair and having your mouth sealed shut.
The boredom is is enough to drive you out of your mind.
Other “Worst” Anime I Dislike:
- Kaze No Stigma.
- Nagi No Asukara.
- Unbreakable Machine Doll.
- Busou Renkin.
- Happy Sugar Life.
My purpose is never to be hurt anyone’s feelings or be a d***.
But opinions are opinions, and I won’t “pretend” just to please anyone, or bow down to consensus.
