If 2020 hasn’t been crazy enough, this story only adds to it.
She was 14 years old.
The man in question is Tatsuya Matsumoto.
And yet even with the weight of the situation, being caught on camera, and him admitting to it, he gets to walk away scott-free.
A suspended sentence, AKA a slap on the wrist
A suspended sentence is when if you “behave” yourself, you can avoid prison time.
So Tatsuya Matsumoto is allowed to walk the streets and live his life for the next 3 years, assuming he doesn’t do a thing during that time.
What’s crazy is the energy this situation has been given.
A simple crime like stealing or robbery (not that it’s not bad) will easily get you prison time without any questions.
Nasty sh*t like this gets you a slap on the wrist, and is especially true in Japan.
