Breaking down the results:

  • One Piece is the #1 selling manga, which isn’t a surprise to anyone.
  • Many top sellers on the list are old-school manga.
  • Some manga on the list is relatively unknown compared to series like Naruto, Dragon Ball, etc.
    • Golgo 13 is an example. This is in spite of its top 10 seller list.
  • If you never grew up in the 1980s or 70s, you may not know half of the manga on this list.
  • My Hero Academia has come a long way to reach its seller status. And Attack On Titan even more so (not far off from reaching Naruto).
  • NANA is a surprise on this list, at least for me. The anime itself isn’t the most known, but the manga is a different story.
  • Great Teacher Onizuka proves it’s an OG with sales to back it up (just like City Hunter and more).
  • Detective Conan isn’t the most praised in the anime world, but the manga absolutely dominates.

And of course, Fullmetal Alchemist has done well to hold its spot after so many years, despite only having ONE season (aside from the FMAB anime remake).
