The Best Diabetes Anime Shows That Will Spike Your Blood Sugar

Everyone loves films, shows, and TV with a touch of diabetes and sweetness.

Anime fans are no exception to this rule and are in fact more into this kind of thing because of the way anime is compared to regular films.

  • Better visuals.
  • Better art.
  • Better emotional storytelling.
  • Better display of emotions.
  • Wholesomeness.

And so on.

Let’s talk more about it.

Anime shows that will give you diabetes:

1. Romantic Killer

Anzu is the main female character of this show. The redheaded girl who seems to get the short end of the stick in the game of romance.

Originally she’s a f*cking weeb and Otaku and has her desires taken away from her by a mysterious creature. Then, she’s forced into a game where people in real life are manipulated into being drawn to, falling for, or crossing paths with Anzu.

Mainly people from school, the past, and more.

This is surprisingly diabetic, and an even more surprisingly good anime series.

2. Say “I Love You”

Not an anime that gets shouted about too much or too often, but it’s one of the sweeter, diabetic-style anime series that will raise your blood sugar.

The female character is shy, has experience with bullying, and has fake friends who ditch her at the drop of a hat. So she’s naturally on guard and puts up a barrier.

This makes the main male MC curious despite being one of the so-called “pretty boy” types who are assumed to go for certain types of stereotypically pretty girls.

Once their relationship begins, he gives her a lot of confidence, and their relationship overall is a sight to see.

3. Inari Kon Kon Kanari

Inari Kon Kon Kanari is about Inaru Fushimi, a girl who likes a certain someone, and admires a certain someone. So much so that after running into some spirits in the forest, she makes a wish to look like that someone (a girl).

Of course, she regrets it and finds a way to reverse the wish. The woman who grants and reverses it is called Uka, who is a goddess and a relevant character.

This is where the sweetness starts and ends between these characters (not in a weird way or anything). It’s more of a parent-daughter vibe or auntie-niece vibe.

The romance is surprisingly wholesome and too clean for any fanservice.

4. Kuma Kuma Kuma Bear

Yuna is the girl in a bear suit. She wins this suit at random after re-entering a game, but now she’s stuck in another world and can’t make it back home.

Yes, this is an isekai and a wholesome one without the complicated plots. It’s about as simplistic as it gets.

You’ll like this or hate this, but one thing that can’t be argued is how nice it feels to watch.

5. Plastic Memories

Isla is a robot who is more like a human, just like plenty of robots in this anime series. Isla and Tsukasa start working together, and they fall for each other.

But this anime, though diabetically sweet, has other plans with its depressing story and painful plot.

Plastic Memories is one of the greatest romance anime of all time.

6. Spy x Family

Anya might as well be the star of the show. Her cuteness is the reason Loid and Yor, both of who are secretly assassins and spies are so intent on creating a happy family environment.

It all comes back to Anya, an adopted daughter with psychic powers (unknown to the adopted parents).

You do get some action, and some small levels of violence, but the main focus of this show is the home life, quality family episodes, and healthy family life lessons.

7. Aria The Animation

Akari Mizunashi works for one of many companies on the planet called Aqua, which is designed based on VENICE in Italy.

They also have those small boats, and Akari (like many Undines as they’re called) help people tour planet Aqua via these boats.

What you get in between all of this is some silly comedy at times, relaxation that feels like a massage, and stores of all kinds from people who are kind and genuinely generous.

8. Today’s Menu for the Emiya Family

For those who haven’t watched FATE or are looking for something besides the usual action, this anime is a good fit.

It focuses on home life, homebodies, cooking, cleaning, family fun, relaxation, conversations, and basically a slice of life format in the world of FATE and its characters.

Emiya, being the good cook he is, is the main source of what makes this anime so chilled.

9. Violet Evergarden

Violet delivers letters and writes them for various people across the country, which is sometime after the war which she was brainwashed and groomed into fighting as an orphan.

Sometimes she writes letters to express affection between couples, other times family members who can’t get their words out any other way, and sometimes it’s much deeper than that.

It’s a story of sadness, happiness, emotional storytelling at its highest level, and some sweet moments mixed in.

10. The Girl I Like Forgot Her Glasses

YouTube video

Mie-San is the romantic interest of Komura Kun. And the vibe is returned, unexpectedly.  It all starts when Mie-San forgets her glasses, and Komura goes out of his way to be nice and help the girl he likes.

This recurring theme isn’t tiring, it’s actually refreshing because of how they approach it and change things up.

The visuals on top of the sweetness are a match made in heaven or some other shit.

11. Ice Guy And The Cool Female Colleague

Ice Guy And The Cool Female Colleague, coming from a manga full of diabetes and sweet scenes is a new addition since 2023.

Himeno, the literal ice guy with a family background related to “ice” people, and Fuyutsuki San, are the romantic highlights in the most subtle and realistic ways possible.

It doesn’t feel forced, and the tone is just right.

12. If It’s For My Daughter, I’d Even Defeat A Demon Lord

Latina, as the demon girl is named after being found in a forest all alone, is the star of the show. And the reason for the sweetness and innocence you tend to see displayed throughout this anime.

Dale is the adult who finds Latina and decides to adopt her as a father-daughter style of relationship. And that’s exactly what the anime delivers.

It’s about as wholesome as it gets.

13. Engaged To The Unidentified

With a crazy sister like Benio, it’s no wonder the main character (Kobeni) is the way she is but that’s part of the comedy routine.

In general, the anime focuses on Kobeni’s relationship with Hakuya, which is why this anime is a definite diabetes series full of sweetness and innocence.

It also has supernatural elements.

14. The Angel Next Door Spoils Me Rotten

Amane is the main male character while “Angel”, aka Shiina is the female character of the show. The latter becomes more interested in Amane after he helps her one day.

They happen to be neighbours. She’s obsessed with cleaning his house after seeing what a mess it is after making him food as a way of reciprocating a favour he did earlier. And the diabetes starts from that point.

It might be the sweetest anime series on this list.

15. Bloom Into You

Yu is the main girl of the show and the main interest, with Touko Nanami being the student council girl who fancies Yu.

Touko is also the famous girl in school who everyone loves and respects and sees as perfect in every way (sports, maths, the whole cliches).

In reality, she’s insecure and doesn’t see herself that way completely, and Yu and the relationship they build makes her more confident, bright, and cheery.

And yes, it’s sweet like velvet chocolate.

16. Whispered Words

A forgotten Yuri series few will even know exists. It’s about two girls who for some reason, just don’t realize they’re romantic feelings for each other.

It’s more like they’re denying their feelings simply because they’re good friends and don’t want to take that extra stressful step.

Kazuma is one of the main female characters who is more feminine, while the black-haired girl with glasses is more introverted and comes from a family of martial artists.

17. Is the Order a Rabbit?

Seeing cute girls doing cute things is a trend that caught on years ago at this stage. Mainly in the late 2000s.

Is The Order A Rabbit is about girls who work in a cafe, and they have friends who work in different cafes. They also have names relating to cafe food.

Take the main character Chiyo for example, or her friend Cocoa, which is a play on words.

You don’t have to think much about this diabetic anime series.

18. Kanon

Kanon is a forgotten anime series that came before Clannad and has a similar art style unsurprisingly.

It’s about Yuichi, a boy who seems to have forgotten certain things and gradually remembers as the anime progresses. He knows a girl who seems connected to his past called Ayu.

And another called Makoto.

Mysterious elements aside, this anime is wholesome, sweet, and relaxed.

19. Non Non Biyori

Non Non Biyori is a slice of life/seinen style anime series. And yet with no romance at all, it’s full of sweetness and diabetes from every bite.

It’s about kids of varying ages from the countryside who go out and enjoy the wilderness together.

Their school is tiny. It only has maybe 5 students. So you know they’re in the sticks for real.

Overall, watching this is as wholesome and diabetically sweet as it gets.
