Criminal Code 175（JP censorship law) is under review by politicians. By shifting the scope of the law from the social sphere to the private sphere, there is an argument that p*rn censorship can be removed as long as there is consent.

According to this user on Twitter, the law surrounding Hentai is being reviewed by politicians in Japan.
The argument is – Hentai’s censorship could be removed as long as there is consent.
Under what specific circumstances isn’t known yet. But you can imagine how controversial this is.
What will be affected going forward
This will most likely affect non-existent 2D characters and individual actors in hentai content.
Content involving real under-aged individuals and those who do not give their consent, will of course, remain censored.

In one of dozens of Tweets, the removal of censorship will affect 2D anime girls and boys, and 2D anime characters in general.
This doesn’t include “real” people of course. This will still be censored, which ain’t surprising.
An uphill battle with a lot of controversy ahead
Politicians looking to amend Criminal Code 175 are currently discussing their options with the police and other parties.
While this sounds like a big win for those who want to see pixels and mosaics removed from Japanese hentai, this could be an uphill battle.

Discussions are taking place as we speak with the Police and people of similar authority in Japan.
This will be a big win for anyone who’s a fan of Hentai, but we all know this will lead to controversy. And it’s not gonna be as simple as “having a conversation”.
Especially with Japan’s society being the way it is as far as being outspoken and taking things to this level.
Organizations and voices like the PTA will rise up and challenge it.
What happens from here is anyone’s guess, but whatever happens – it will affect the future of Hentai and the way it’s censored.
