Kyoto Animation’s journey continues after the tragic events that took place in July 2019.
President Hatta once decided to turn the studio building into a memorial, but now he’s decided it’s best to set the building for demolition.
It will start being destroyed on November 25th so the Kyoani family can put all the bad memories behind them.
That’s the main reason President Hatta on behalf of Kyoto Animation decided to set Studio 1 for demolition.
In Hatta’s own words:
“When I consider the staff and the people in this neighborhood, there are people who don’t want to see such a gruesome sight.”
No decision has been made for what the building will be used for after the project’s finished. But the demolition of Studio 1 will be completed by April 2020.
