eBay Is Banning Anime And Hentai Products From July 15th 2021

ebay is banning anime and hentai

Anime can’t go a year without being banned, censored, suppressed, or causing some level of outrage.

It’s always one or the other, regardless of the platform or company.

eBay is the latest to ban anime and hentai. Or I should say they plan to on July 15th 2021.

This also includes adult content from films and books.

In the interest of “safety”

QUOTE:

“We have revised our Adult Items policy,” the notice reads. “Starting June 15, 2021, items showing sexual activity, sexual content or sexually suggestive poses will no longer be allowed on eBay.com.”

It goes further.

Here’s the list of what’s prohibited from that date:

  • Items that contain explicit sexual material.
  • Items with sexual content, including showing provocative sexual poses, genitalia, or sexual activity.

This includes anime, comics, books, films, animation, manga, hentai, and Yaoi.

Interestingly a lot of it is associated with content made by the Japanese.

They may not be specifically targeting it, but it has fallen victim to the policy.

eBay will still allow “sex toys” in spite of it

I can’t say what motivated their decision, but it seems strange that sex toys are OK, but adult content is not.

I mean, what’s the difference?

Anyone can get sex toys or access “adult” products. Both share similarities, but are used differently to get similar results.

Sounds politically motivated, meaning political correctness as opposed to being a sound decision.

What do you think?
