Then my question to you is THIS.
While it might feel good to have your favorite anime WIN an award, to deny that it’s rigged and predictable it’s nothing short of playing dumb.
I’ve already spoken about the problem with the Crunchyroll anime awards:
Historically it repeats itself in being:
- Politically correct.
And NOT giving voters “true” power in the voting system.
Crunchyroll said it themselves:
“Not only do judges select all of the nominees for the Anime Awards, but they help contribute to deciding the eventual winners as well! This year, the points that judges assigned in the nomination period will be weighted 70/30 against the fan vote to decide the final winner in each category.” – Crunchyroll
It’s for this reason I don’t have any personal interest in the Crunchyroll anime awards.
Unless it’s a legit voting system (something like MyAnimeList or a poll without politics), it’s no different to the Oscars or any other award that’s NOT a representation of the people.
