Air Hostesses have some of the most important jobs in the world you could argue.
After all, they:
- Make sure everyone is following the rules when flying.
- Keeps passengers safe and comfortable.
- Keep people safe, ultimately.
- Make sure things are running smoothly.
- Can keep people in check, which is good for those who can be a problem for everyone else.
- And in the case of an emergency, they can save lives.
Now imagine what it would be like if anime characters were air hostesses, or more accurately, female anime characters.
That puts a new spin on what you could expect, and of course, which anime girls would be best suited to this line of work in a fictional universe.
Let’s talk about it.
1. Emilico (Shadows House)
Emilico is the cute and kawaii female character from Shadows House, a mystery series that is basically the 10X improved version of Promised Neverland.
As a main female character, she has a shadow (like all “doll” characters) that mimic them, and who they communicate and live with day by day.
Emilico is a bit unique since she is fearless, curious, extroverted, extremely kind, generous, attentive, and compassionate towards others.
Even if those people are strangers.
All this energy and positivity is perfect for an air hostess, and Emilico as a grown up air hostess would get the job done with flying colours and would become a memorable favourite among international airlines wherever she works.
2. Honoka Kousaka (Love Live School Idol Project)
Honoka Kousaka is an idol in the main series, and this all starts from a goal she sets for herself as she starts recruiting various people to join in.
That already shows she has the energy to draw others in, to communicate, and in some ways, to lead and show leadership skills which is true.
Honoka is a clear extrovert and one who cares about others where it counts. This is important in this line of work for obvious reasons.
As long as she got the role down right, she’d shine and her bright personality would make everyone feel at ease no matter the airline.

3. Kuroko Shirai (A Certain Scientific Railgun)
Kuroko Shirai might act like a fiend in the anime’s “gag” moments, but in all seriousness, she is one of the most disciplined anime girls in the industry.
In her work with the organization “Judgment”, she is disciplined, has good habits, takes public order seriously, is organized, and knows how to manage crises and keep things in check.
She’s calm and not the type to lose her cool in the heat of a situation.
In the airline business, Kuroko is nice enough but also is a person who has boundaries, meaning she strikes the balance between niceness and putting people in their place if needed.
Not everyone is “Nice” on an aeroplane, and Kuroko’s personality would deal with these scenarios easily and with grace.
4. Chizuru Mizuhara (Rent A Girlfriend)
Chizuru is a rental girlfriend in the anime series and she is considered to be one of the greatest rental girlfriends there is in Japan.
Highly rated, highly sought after, and most of all, a true professional who doesn’t deviate from her job. It’s the reason she is so likeable as a character or even as a waifu if you wanna take it there.
Her versatile personality would fit any customer role, including an air hostess, where she would again shine as a person and would be respected by others in her field.
Graceful, thoughtful, feminine, but when necessary, able to speak her mind and do what needs to be done.
5. Mirajane Strauss (Fairy Tail)
Mirajane Strauss is like the “angel” of the Fairy Tail series, which is funny because if you fuck around and find out, she is anything but an angel. She is literally a demon with demon blood.
She is one of those people who are nice, kind, compassionate, and sometimes too much until you finally cross that line which most know not to cross.
She has boundaries that are clear but without being aggressive in setting those boundaries. It’s why Mirajane works behind the bar in the series and is a model for a magazine.
She fits in everywhere, and her attitude and adaptability as an air hostess would be no different.
6. Asuna Yuuki (Sword Art Online)
Asuna Yuuki is the darling of the Sword Art Online franchise.
She is the girl who at first, is on edge, doesn’t trust others, and is seemingly introverted, but that is because of how hectic season 1 is in the “kill or be killed” world they find themselves in.
She knows how to cook, make food, serve, and please others, but not at her own expense and especially not to someone who is trying to take the piss (take advantage).
Her demeanour lets you know that she is pleasant, but that doesn’t mean you can get away with anything less than that.
7. Satou Matsuzaka (Happy Sugar Life)
I would have chosen Shoko, but Satou knows how to set boundaries better by comparison (despite her yandere traits).
Satou is a nice person who has been corrupted as far as her perception of love because of her auntie and family, but in an ideal world, she would make the perfect air hostess.
In the anime, its seen that Satou is exceptional at her job and the customers absolutely love her. She’s pleasant, smiling, happy, cheerful, and serves customers beyond expectations.
This is also why others become jealous in the anime.
As an air hostess, she would strike the right balance and put everyone at ease while dealing with difficult people flawlessly.
8. Erza Scarlet (Fairy Tail)
Erza Scarlet goes without saying. She’s a woman with class, grace, self respect, speaks frankly, and shows the same respect to others that she has for herself.
Which says a lot.
She is also not a person to allow others to be demeaned, disrespected, and bullied, let alone herself, just because the situation puts her at a disadvantage.
She does her work with effort, diligence, and is meticulous. Erza being able to adapt to different environments plus her personality would make her the perfect air hostess in many ways.
9. Ruby Hoshino (Oshi No Ko)
Ruby is the closest thing to Ai Hoshino, being the daughter, and having a similar personality except she’s all the way nice and kind.
Energetic, gets along with others well, is fine in social situations, and is very optimistic as a character.
She is everything that her brother isn’t because of how she chooses to see the world.
Ruby Hoshino would be a good air hostess in real life and it’s easy to imagine.
10. Ram (Re:Zero – Starting Life In Another World)
Ram isn’t the most smiley person you could come across, but she does smile but tends to be more serious most of the time. Not in a miserable kind of way, but more in a neutral, sometimes hard to read kind of way.
Or just the fact she is calm and doesn’t wear too many emotions on her face.
Between her and her sister rem, she is clearly the one who is more organised, better at work, keeping things managed no matter the environment, and most of all, staying focused without letting her emotions run a muk.
11. Mahiru Shiina (The Angel Next Door Spoils Me Rotten)
Mahiru is the “angel” of the series and even though she isn’t fond of the title given to her, she works with it and is a nice person to almost everyone…. That is until someone crosses the line.
Even then, Mahiru handles conflict with grace, finesse, and an attitude so pleasant it leaves the perpetrator confused but clear where the boundaries are.
This would translate well in the world of flight attendants, airlines, and so on, where service and attitude go a long way, especially when conflict arises.
12. Tsumugi Kotobuki (K-On)
Tsumugi is the resident airhead of the series, but not so much that she’s unaware of what she is doing. In fact, this seems more like a deception than anything.
She is smarter than she looks, sounds, and appears, plus she is very aware of her surroundings despite how she comes across to others.
Tsumugi is always happy as a default, and it’s rare to see her affected by “bad” things because of how her personality is.
She’d be the air hostess everyone loves and can’t get mad at if such a thing exists.
