Upcoming Anime Controversies In 2022 That Will Set The Internet On Fire (1)

Upcoming Anime Controversies In 2022 That Will Set The Internet Ablaze

There’s nothing like controversy when it comes to the anime industry.

I admit most controversy is uncalled for, but western opposition is mostly to blame for that.

Uzaki Chan in 2020 is an example of an anime that was turned into a controversy over next to nothing.

In 2021 it was Redo Of Healer that sparked controversy, alongside:

  • Attack On Titan.
  • Yashahime.
  • Demon Slayer.
  • Jujutsu Kaisen.

And many more shows.

Now 2022 is on the way in less than a month, let’s get into the upcoming anime controversies to expect.

Starting with….

1. Goblin Slayer Season 2

Goblin Slayer. Everyone remembers this anime from the end of 2018. During the autumn/winter season.

The savage first episode from this dark horror series shows:

  • Goblins violating female characters.
  • Graphic violence.
  • R*pe and physical abuse.

And basically traumatizing acts that leaves a mental scar on one of the main female characters who escapes with her life.

Twitter set ablaze, and voiced their outrage with the usual tactics of trying to cancel and force others into submission (over something they don’t like or financially support).

Season 2 may bring more of this savagery to the community, and the anime’s general violence relating to Goblins.

Let’s see what Studio White Fox has planned.

2. Made In Abyss Season 2

Made In Abyss by itself had some supposed controversial elements to the first season. Like our main female character casually talking about the robot’s willy wonka and what not.

It was weird, but overall the anime did bring something new and fresh. And had a familiar but unsettling vibe like Madoka Magica.

Season 2 is set for 2022, and there are more “questionable” scenes involving let’s say, a Loli that leads to peculiar moments.

The west (the loud minority) isn’t gonna like this at all. It’ll be a cup of tea too bitter.

3. World’s End Harem

World’s End Harem already aired back in October, but it was only the first episode of the series.

Within that episode you get a rundown of the comical plot that’s about to take place.

In a nutshell it’s about a few men who survive a pandemic that wipes out almost all the Men in the world. The remaining Men now have to impregnate women to save humanity.

Women of which there are obviously plenty since the virus didn’t kill them off.

Convenient, but naturally controversial, init?

4. Don’t Toy With Me, Miss Nagatoro Season 2

Don’t Toy With Me, Miss Nagatoro is similar to Uzaki Chan for its themes, but also the controversy between the both of them.

Nagatoro had a bit of controversy before it even aired, just like Uzaki Chan. And that continued which only made the anime more popular.

Anime + Outrage = success. It’s a basic formula.

With the success of Nagatoro season 1, season 2 has recently been announced back in October 2021. It’s like the anime will release in 2022 if all goes well.

5. The Rising Of The Shield Hero Season 2

Shield Hero followed Goblin Slayer’s lead in 2019 with its controversial nature (supposedly). January 2019 was a crazy time in the anime community.

Websites that have nothing to do with anime were criticizing it left right and center. With some of the most outrageous accusations that hold no relevance.

Why the fuss? Because Naofumi (the main character) is falsely accused of r*pe, and it’s portrayed in a realistic, relatable fashion.

It’s not the only reason for its controversy.

Season 2 Of Shield Hero is coming in 2022, and the anime’s enemies are bound to take notice, point out faults, and make a fuss that will inflate its popularity again.

6. Uzaki Chan Wants To Hang Out Season 2

Uzaki Chan Wants To Hang Out, and yet her desire to hang out caused so much controversy back in late 2019.

First it started with the manga, then the Redcross Blood Donations, then the anime adaptation, and the anime’s release in July 2020.

It raged on until maybe October 2020 with daily conversations and outrage from the loud Twitter minority in the west.

Season 2 was announced during that same time and despite its delay, 2022 looks to be the year of its release.

It doesn’t take a genius to see why those same people will complain, find fault, and inflate the anime’s success as a direct result of the outrage.

it’s a predictable pattern never fails.

7. Attack On Titan Final Series Part 2

YouTube video

Attack On Titan has been a surprising anime as far as controversy. This mostly comes from ungrateful fans who complained about the series.

The complaints were so bad, and the outrage so big, that it even surpassed Redo Of Healer even though it logically makes no sense.

With the final part to the series dropping in 2022, you can expect a lot of conversation, with outrage squished in the middle of it.

8. Yashahime Season 2

Yashahime Season 2 is airing right now, and looks to continue airing in 2022. If the first season was anything to go off, the 2nd season might match it.

Social media’s ability to make a non issue into an issue, or a house cat into a Lion shouldn’t be underestimated.

As long as it offends a small portion of people, Twitter will be at the forefront to scream and shout about how bad the anime is, or why it’s morally wrong and deserving of censorship.

9. My Hero Academia Season 6

My Hero Academia since the first season has managed to stir up controversy for similar, but very different reasons to the usual anime controversy.

In this fandom there’s a toxic set of fans who focus more on “shipping” characters to make them gay, and less on the anime’s actual story and plot.

It’s lead to death threats against the author, wars in the fandom, and unnecessary controversy with almost every season.

During season 4 people were burning their manga on live video for example. Who knows what’s coming with season 6 in 2022.

.

10. Rent A Girlfriend Season 2

Rent A Girlfriend season 1 didn’t cause controversy like anime on this list, but it did cause a stir to a lesser degree.

Given some of the scenes we got from season 1, and what’s to be expected in season 2, it has potential in this area once 2022 comes around.

I’m here for the anime’s progression more than anything, but you can’t ignore talking about outrage since it’s so prevalent for now.

Can you mention anymore anime that may cause controversy in 2022?
